Job Summary
The Post Harvest Lead is responsible for properly weighing, tracking and inspecting all cannabis flower intended for packaging. They are also responsible for communicating and following through with the tasks assigned to the team by the Post Harvest Manager. This position is an integral piece of the harvest, cure, and trim process at Ayr Wellness, focusing on effective teamwork, ensuring that all numbers are correctly reported in the state mandated inventory tracking system, and only the highest-quality, well-manicured cannabis flower is packaged for sale to our customers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspects and weighs cannabis flower, as well as unusable stems, stalks, and fan leaves for input into the inventory tracking system.
- Teaches and trains team members on the various tasks of the Processing department.
- Establishes focused and positive work culture for department while monitoring team productivity and efficiency, production quality, and uniformity.
- Drives efficiencies while meeting daily and weekly goals set by supervisors.
- Assists the Assistant Manager(s) with the hiring of new team members.
- Responsible for proper inventory and documentation of all products including waste.
- Ensures quality control post-harvest for a clean, seedless, pest and pathogen-free final product.
- Maintains a high level of cleanliness of all processing equipment/areas and sanitation practices concerning handling of product according to company procedures.
- Reports any instances of identifiable occurrence of mold, mildew, seeds, pests, or pathogens to the Processing Manager.
- Fosters a positive work environment, treating everyone with dignity and respect while perpetuating a curiosity for “everything cannabis”.
Qualifications
- Must meet age requirement as outlined by state cannabis agencies.
- Able to pass all background checks/fingerprinting as required by state cannabis agencies.
- Able to provide valid badging/credentials as required by state cannabis agencies.
- Meticulous attention to detail and strong desire to produce a high-quality product.
- Exceptional hand-eye coordination and able/willing to work with small hand tools consistently throughout the entire shift.
- Able/willing to hand/finger manipulate cannabis plant matter over the course of the entire shift.
- Able/willing to sit/stand for prolonged periods.
- Must be dependable, professional and confident. And be able to follow instructions and respond to management direction.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance.
Education
- High school diploma/GED required
- Equivalent combination of work/education experience accepted

Working conditions
- The person in this position may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree.
- The working area may be odorous at times and loud due to fans and filtration systems, fluctuating between cold and warm temperatures.
Physical requirements
- Sitting, standing, and walking motion/movement will be required throughout the shift.
- Constant movement of hands/fingers and limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination, and stamina.
- Constantly operates extraction machinery and other productivity equipment.
- Must be able to inspect and detect quality defects.
- Occasional lifting, positioning, or moving items up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work on weekends or alternate shifts.
