Job Summary 
The Facilities Ops Supervisor / Manager is responsible for day-to-day facilities operations at the manufacturing site, including building maintenance, utilities, and sanitation programs. This role ensures the facility remains safe, functional, clean, and audit-ready to support continuous operations.
This position oversees facilities and sanitation staff, coordinates maintenance activities, manages vendors and contractors, and supports preventive maintenance and sanitation programs across the site. The role partners closely with Operations, EHS, Quality, and site leadership to ensure building systems and sanitation standards meet operational and regulatory requirements.
Duties and Responsibilities  
  • Ensure a safe working environment
  • Lead daily facilities maintenance and sanitation operations across the site.
  • Oversee maintenance of building infrastructure including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems.
  • Ensure sanitation and cleaning programs are executed consistently and meet site, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Develop and maintain preventive maintenance and sanitation schedules.
  • Maintain and update SOPs for facilities and sanitation processes.
  • Manage preventive maintenance tracking within designated systems.
  • Supervise, schedule, and support facilities and sanitation personnel.
  • Assign and prioritize work orders, repairs, sanitation tasks, and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Coordinate and oversee third-party contractors and service vendors working on site.
  • Partner with site and national teams on equipment installation, facility upgrades, and repair projects.
  • Maintain critical spare parts, maintenance supplies, and sanitation inventory.
  • Support maintenance and sanitation budget tracking and cost control.
  • Ensure work areas, support areas, and shared spaces are maintained in safe and clean conditions.
  • Identify and implement efficiency and reliability improvements across facility operations.
  • Respond to facility issues and urgent maintenance needs after hours, weekends, or holidays as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications 
  • At least 5+ years of facilities experience, preferably in an agriculture and/or biotech
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
  •  Demonstrated ability to work and collaborate in cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic team setting Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexibility in a constantly evolving environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership in areas of responsibility
  • Project management experience
Education  
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of work/education experience accepted
Experience  
  • 5-7 yrs Facilities Maintenance experience, preferably in agriculture and/or biotech
  • HVAC Certification (plus)
  • Certified electrician (plus)
Direct reports  
  • Manager has one or more employees within a department
  • Manages department within a function with authority to hire/terminate
Working conditions 
This person may be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals, and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree. This person will be traveling between dispensaries and manufacturing facilities within AYR Wellness.
Physical requirements 
  • Sitting, standing and walking motion/movement will be required throughout the shift.
  • Frequently ascends/descends a ladder and uses scissor lift to inspect/maintain equipment.
  • Occasionally works in outside conditions that includes exposure to inclement weather, heat and humidity.
  • Occasional lifting, positioning or moving items up to 100 pounds.
