The Opportunity

The Vice President of Global Market Access will help prepare Avidity for successful global product launches across a portfolio of pipeline products. This individual will be an integral member of the global commercial leadership team. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, this role will drive market access strategy, value generation and demonstration, pricing and launch plans for target regions globally. Success will require excellence in teamwork and cross functional collaboration. This position will work cross-functionally especially with clinical, medical affairs, patient advocacy and regional commercial partners.

What You Will Contribute

  • Hire and lead a global team to achieve market access goals
  • Develop a comprehensive global market access strategy tailored for rare diseases, considering regional variations in regulations, pricing, and reimbursement for development and commercial products
  • Seek payer input through formal HTA advice, payer advisory boards or other mechanisms to help inform development strategy and HEOR strategy
  • Conduct payer and market research to identify patient populations, healthcare systems, and key stakeholders in each target market
  • Drive health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) initiatives that identify and address payer evidence gaps and establish value for each product
  • Represent the payer perspective and share global market access expertise with internal teams including clinical development, patient advocacy, launch and commercialization teams
  • Identify payer value drivers and barriers to patient access. Create evidence generation and demonstration and pricing plans that lead to successful and timely reimbursement
  • Create global value dossiers, cost-effectiveness and budget impact models and market entry plans for in-country Health Technology Assessment (HTA) and pricing & reimbursement submissions, within product development timelines
  • Collaborate with policymakers and authorities to navigate the specific requirements for orphan drugs and rare disease treatments in each market
  • Support country teams in securing access through generation of collateral and resources, including global value dossier, AMCP dossier, CE and Budget Impact models
  • Contribute to and drive global pricing strategies to consider the value proposition and affordability for patients and healthcare systems
  • Create and chair a global pricing committee
  • Develop training programs to educate internal and external partners on market access and pricing strategies
  • Support commercial readiness resourcing and launch plans, establishing foundational market access strategies and launch excellence goals
  • Monitor the global market access landscape and incorporate relevant trends into Avidity plans, identifying potential future opportunities and threats related to patient access
  • Track the performance of the market access strategy and adapt it as needed based on new data or changes in the healthcare landscape

What We Seek

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience working in pharmaceutical market access. Must include 10+ years in HEOR and/or global payer strategy and pricing
  • Proven track record of successful reimbursement negotiations with European Health Technology Assessment (HTA) bodies and pricing authorities for rare disease therapies
  • Experience successfully creating and executing HEOR plans and tactics in rare disease
  • Ability to understand and summarize complex scientific information and present it in a clear, concise, and scientifically accurate manner to external audiences
  • In depth knowledge of, and experience with, HTA submissions and processes in multiple markets
  • Expertise in the global market access landscape and regional payer decision-making trends
  • A passion for achieving goals as a member of the team. Proven track record of strong communication and collaboration skills, including recognition by cross-functional partners.
  • Ability to operate in compliance with Avidity’s policies and code of conduct
  • Willing to take on additional responsibilities determined to be required for this position
  • Team leadership experience within a cross-functional matrix environment
  • Ability to travel as needed up to 50% globally

 

What We will Provide to You:

  • The base salary range for this role is $300,000-350,000. The final compensation will be commensurate with such factors as relevant experience, skillset, internal equity and market factors.
