The Opportunity
The Vice President/Franchise Lead, Neuromuscular is a global cross-functional leader accountable for launching and commercialization of Avidity's neuromuscular therapies. They will be part of the Commercial Leadership Team and will contribute broadly from IND through post-approval phases.  They will be accountable for leading an efficient global franchise team and ensuring optimal collaboration across all regions and functions.  They will be a champion and role model for the BeAvid values and contribute actively to broader Avidity initiatives to build community and purpose.
What You Will Contribute
  • Work with regional and functional leadership to develop launch strategies including contributing to market access and pricing, launch sequencing and associated resourcing requirements
  • Lead the global launch of our neuromuscular portfolio
  • Partner with launch program manager to develop an integrated roadmap and cross-functional plans
  • Effectively collaborate and partner across Avidity, including key partnership with Core Team, Research, Clinical Development, Commercial, Medical Affairs, Patient Advocacy, Investor Relations and Business Development
  • Communicate launch strategy broadly and assist in Avidity’s cultural evolution toward a fully-integrated commercial stage company
  • Partner with discovery and development teams to develop and pursue product lifecycle plans
  • Develop a global marketing plan and work with regional leaders to tailor to individual markets
  • Provide commercial input into our global regulatory strategy to optimize launch success
  • Leverage core and cross-functional teams for input to clinical study design to meet target product profiles and target product labels
  • Partner with global market access on the development of a compelling economic value proposition and pricing recommendations
  • Develop range of commercialization options in the US and ex-US for consideration based on external environment and competitive situation
  • Lead the development of brand identity, positioning and global message platform
  • Coordinate global commercial brand team, processes and communications to ensure integration and geographic alignment into commercial strategies
  • Establish market development plans and execute market/product preparation with key regions on a global basis
  • Partner with finance and portfolio strategy to develop Long Range Plans (LRP) and facilitate choices across the portfolio
  • Understand and anticipate trends (macro, economic, political) impacting industry and company strategy. Actively identify risks and opportunities, develop appropriate action plans and communicate effectively with Avidity leadership
  • Serve as an active member for our portfolio strategy efforts, representing neuromuscular franchise
  • Collaborate with Commercial Operations to develop deep customer insights to shape the commercial strategy
  • Assess competitive market landscape and opportunities for improved or expanded market penetration and adoption
  • Support Global Program Heads (GPHs) to maximize the value of their respective neuromuscular products

What We Seek
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or other Advanced Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 15 years of life sciences industry experience
  • Working knowledge of research, development and extensive experience in commercial operations
  • Minimum 8 years interdisciplinary experience with complex global launches including strategy, execution and matrix team management
  • Success operating in multiple organizational models
  • Prior collaboration with Key Opinion Leaders and investigators
  • Proven track record of developing talent and being a culture champion
  • Experience with key aspects of BLA/NDA/MAA filings
  • Experience in rare disease commercialization in multiple markets
  • A background in antibody delivery or siRNA is a plus
  • Demonstrated excellent communication (oral and written), matrix leadership, stakeholder engagement, change management, leadership, integration, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work from our La Jolla office at least 50%
  • Ability to travel globally as needed up to 30%

What We will Provide to You:

  • The base salary range for this role is $300,000-350,000. The final compensation will be commensurate with such factors as relevant experience, skillset, internal equity and market factors.
