We are currently searching for a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to join our team at our Sidney Plant in Sidney, OH.  This position is for 2nd shift; 2nd shift production hours are 2:45 PM - 10:45 PM.

What you will do:
  • Oversees incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and condition of shipments 
  • Attends regular meetings and provides updates relative to the status of shipping to customer requirements (ie – shortage of containers, raw materials, or finished goods) 
  • Interacts with Customer Service and Manufacturing to resolve any potential issues relative to daily customer requirements 
  • Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications 
  • Directs movement of shipments from shipping and receiving docks to storage and work areas 
  • Advises all potential short shipments to appropriate personnel  
  • Ensures the safe operation of the plant’s material handling equipment in accordance with published plant and corporate guidelines for: 
    • Fork Lifts 
    • Docks, dock locks, chocks, doors, plates 
    • Switchers, trucks and trailers 
    • Storage, racking and warehousing 
  • Creates and maintains shipping and receiving documents for: 
    • Inbound material receipts 
    • Outbound material paperwork 
    • Customer specific documents 
    • Customs documentation 
  • Coaches, mentors, and disciplines the team as required 
  • Supports the plant requirements for the movement of materials, tooling and supplies  
  • Works with the material handling team to ensure there is a place for everything and everything is in its place, labelling all storage locations with part numbers and minimum quantities 
  • Manages the storage, maintenance and cleaning of the plants returnable container fleet as well as working with the Demand Analyst and Master Scheduler to ensure returnable containers are available to support the production plan 
  • Supports the engineering change process as required by the Supply Chain Manager 
  • Controls the First-In, First-Out (FIFO) process for the storage of raw materials and outgoing finished goods, ensuring proper inventory rotation and minimizing material obsolescence.

    What you will bring:
    • Associate’s degree in Business Administration,  Manufacturing, or a related discipline or equivalent experience  (3-5 years of shipping and receiving supervisory experience in a unionized manufacturing environment)
     Travel Requirements:
    Limited travel (including overnight travel) may be necessary
     
    Knowledge, Skills, and Ability:
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook)
    • Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communications
    • Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced, just-in-time, team-oriented environment
    • Ability to lead an effective and efficient meeting
    • Ability to resolve conflicts
    • Forward planner  
    • Experience with ERP systems; QAD, Plex 
    • Working knowledge of automotive customer systems and requirements (Ford/GM/FCA/Toyota) 
    • Must be able to work any shift
    • Must be able to work weekends and overtime when necessary
    • Ability to work in a noisy environment
    • Ability to work in front of a computer screen 8 hours or more per day
    • Ability to move around in office environment as needed to complete job duties. This may involve the need to climb stairs
    • Ability to move around on production floor as needed to complete job duties. This may involve the need to climb stairs or ladders
