PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Maintenance Technician will provide hands-on support to the plant to ensure that the machines and equipment are properly maintained to provide the most effective capabilities. The Maintenance Technician is also responsible for maintaining the proper tools to complete their assigned jobs and for providing input to the Spare Parts Technician on stocking the proper parts to maintain the machines.

EDUCATION AND/OR TRAINING:

  • High school diploma or equivalent GED from an accredited school
  • Technical school, Journeyman machinist or millwright papers preferred
  • Good computer skills

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain a wide variety of plumbing, mechanical systems in accordance with local, state or national codes. Review maintenance requests, identify and recommend optimum solutions. Perform preventative maintenance inspections and perform preventative maintenance on production equipment. Perform general maintenance welding projects on machines, conveyors, air shafts, and other equipment, using arc, gas, or automatic welding equipment. Using a variety of machines, such as lathes, mills, precision grinders etc. perform basic machining turning down shafts, cut keyways etc.
