Senior Sales Engineer

 

Your primary responsibility as a Sales Engineer, will be to support the sales team by providing technical expertise and product knowledge to promote and sell our company's products or services. You will work closely with customers, understanding their needs and recommending appropriate solutions. Your role will involve collaborating with the sales team, product managers, and engineers to ensure customer satisfaction and successful sales outcomes.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Pre-Sales Support: Provide technical expertise and support to the sales team throughout the sales process, including presentations, demonstrations, and proof of concepts.
  • Solution Design: Collaborate with clients and prospects to understand their needs and design tailored SASE solutions that address their cybersecurity challenges.
  • Partner Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with key partners such as Broadmedia, Softbank, KDDI, and Marubeni Systems. Prior relationship with these partners is a value add.
  • Customer Engagement: Engage with prospective and existing clients to understand their requirements, address their concerns, and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Technical Leadership: Stay updated with the latest cybersecurity trends and technologies to provide thought leadership and technical guidance.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including product management and engineering, to ensure customer feedback is integrated into product development.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven experience in a technical sales role, preferably as a sales engineer.
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand complex technical concepts.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in using CRM and sales enablement tools.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and industry events as required.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Results-driven with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write in English (Required).
  • Ability to multi-task over a range of simultaneous projects and responsibilities.
  • Experienced in account planning and proposal delivery.
  • Proactive customer management skills.

 

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in a Pre-Sales Engineering role, specifically within the cybersecurity industry.
  • Preferred certifications: CCIE and CISSP.
  • Proficiency in SD-WAN technologies.
  • Deep understanding of NGFW, IPSEC, SSL, CASB, DLP, SWG, ZTNA, Proxy Solutions, and BGP.
  • Proven experience in selling cybersecurity products.
  • Established relationships with partners such as Broadmedia, Softbank, KDDI, and Marubeni Systems is given preference
  • Must be Fluent in both English and Japanese.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Flexibility to travel upto 35%

 

Industry Specific Requirements:

  • 5+ years experience in Network Security Technology Solutions, Telecom.
  • Solid knowledge of WAN & LAN based technical solutions, including high speed WAN connectivity options; MPLS-VPN, remote access VPNs.

 

Understanding of the following technologies:

TCP/IP, deep understanding of dynamic routing protocols i.e. BGP, OSPF, fair understanding of core networking concepts like QOS, IPSEC, site to site VPNs, Remote Access VPNs etc., hands on experience on network security products like Firewalls, Load Balancers etc, Deep understanding of SSL, Familiarity with Multi-Vendor Cloud Interface like AWS, Azure. Skills with setting up labs using virtualization or Physical setup for test/demo environment will be a great add on. CCIE (Security/RnS)/CISSP will an added advantage.
