The Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a field-facing representative of US Medical Affairs primarily engaging in the exchange of scientific data and other medical and/or scientific information with external customers (Health Care Providers, researchers, professional organization leadership, and population-based decision makers) in the areas of Arcus Biosciences interest.
 

Responsibilities

 

  • Support company and investigator sponsored trials
  • Represent Arcus at local, regional, national and international conferences
  • Work cross functionally to support Arcus strategic initiatives both internally and externally
  • Communicate key information about Arcus Biosciences and its vision
  • Provide key scientific and clinical information about Arcus’ investigational compounds
  • Be a conduit for communication between Arcus’ research and the medical community regarding ideas for future research with Arcus’ investigational compounds
  • Bring relevant insights from the field on research developments, treatment landscape and new concepts in medical treatment.
  • Provide corporate value through demonstrated leadership and participation in strategic thinking.

 

Qualifications

 

  • Master’s level oncology PA or NP with active commitment towards completion of doctorate degree, and 6+ years of related experience; or Accredited doctorate degree in a basic-science or life-science discipline (Pharm.D., Ph.D., D.Sc., D.N.P., or D.O.) and 2+ years related experience
  • MSL experience in therapeutic oncology preferred
  • Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations and OIG guidelines are required.
  • Comfortable and confident speaking about drug information/disease state management.
  • Recommend established relationships with key opinion leaders in therapeutic areas of interest
  • Clinical trial development experience is preferred.
  • Excellent presentation and teaching skills.
  • Strong overall written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • anticipate, organize, plan and handle multiple changing priorities
    • work independently while adhering to Medical Affairs strategic direction
    • analyze complex situations and proactively identify opportunities/issues; effectively solve problems that cross functional boundaries
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Capable of engaging in frequent business travel (approximately 60% of time), including air travel; ability to travel overnight and occasionally on weekends, domestically and occasionally internationally. 
  • This is a field-based position. The employee is required to set up a home-based office.
  • Candidates must live in the US, west of the Mississippi River.

 


This role will be remote based. The anticipated salary range for fully qualified candidates applying for this position is $171,000 - $220,000 USD annually. This salary range is an estimate of what we reasonably expect to pay for this posted position. The actual salary may vary based on various factors including, without limitation, individual education, experience, tenure, skills and abilities, internal equity and alignment with market data.
