Our consumer division is looking for a qualified person to assist in the design, layout, and maintenance of the faith-based, curriculum catalog, for PreK-12, that is published, printed, and marketed by Alpha Omega Publications (AOP). In this role, the Publications Designer works closely with the Manager of Curriculum Development to create new curriculum products and complete updates and maintenance of existing publications.

All office-based employees or employees meeting face-to-face with other employees are required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination.

A Day in the Life as a Publication Designer

Every day can be an adventure! In general, a Publication Designer will spend much of their time assisting in the design, editing, and maintenance of our extensive library of print products (more than one thousand individual titles). In an ideal world, you roll up your sleeve and can work on edits to both layout and text, design new products for print and digital audiences (and hybrid), and work with our team to meet functional and budgetary restrictions. You will learn the personalities of each of our team members while you create and reinforce the personalities of our products. You may be asked to represent the Consumer Division at trade shows and conferences and provide subject matter expertise on our products.


  • Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, marketing, or related field and 3-5 years of related experience; or an acceptable combination of education or experience.
  • At least 3 years of experience producing multi-page layout print design (books, magazines, newspapers, etc.) with a high level of experience working in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and QuarkXpress.
  • Ability to work in either Apple or Windows environment and familiarity with the other.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills using Adobe InDesign, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and QuarkXpress.
  • Ability to apply principles of good print design in education publications.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels.
  • Highly organized, able to prioritize, and work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills including electronic file management.
  • Adaptability, flexibility and positive work ethic.
  • Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
