Anthology’s Professional Services organization works with customers to solve a wide variety of technology challenges. Using both industry-standard and cutting-edge technologies, our consultants develop innovative, custom solutions that extend, enhance, and integrate Anthology’s enterprise products. As Integrations Developer, you will work in a dynamic, collaborative environment and interface directly with customers to define requirements, draft specifications, and implement software solutions.

Specific responsibilities will include: 

  • Serving as an expert in Anthology products including their architecture, functionality, and deployment methodologies 
  • Developing web application prototypes features in conjunction with Architects, Business Analysts, and other developers
  • Building web applications with modern JavaScript frameworks
  • Developing in an Agile environment of front end web technologies 
  • Creating applications that work well across browsers and platforms including responsive design for mobile support
  • Developing necessary Unit and Integration tests using relevant technology to generate coverage and compliance reports
  • Participating in code reviews of your work and the work of others
  • Researching and experimenting with new technology that will advance future projects
  • Helping to create and maintain Visual Style guides for Web solutions, driving the corporate UX direction
  • Working with managers to estimate work tasks and level of effort within project timeline
  • Adhering to established delivery methodology, quality, standards, and best practices
  • Maintaining a flexible work schedule to meet customer needs
  • This role requires up to 25% travel

 

The Candidate:

Required skills/qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Design (e.g. user interaction, graphic, visual components, product), or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 3-5 years of software development lifecycle and associated processes experience
  • Strong front end engineering skills using Object-Oriented JavaScript, Async event management, JavaScript libraries and micro frameworks like (AJAX, jQuery, Angular, Prototype), and NodeJS
  • An understanding of HTML/CSS3 including transformations, transitions, and events driven design
  • Experience in designing and developing web pages and web applications using well-known industries standards and languages including TypeScript
  • Ability to incorporate user-centered design principles into the architecture and design of user interfaces
  • A strong understanding of RESTful API design and customer consumption
  • Solid analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to learn new technologies as needed
  • Ability to work well in a geographically distributed virtual team environment and build relationships with internal and external organizations
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills and ability to manage expectations effectively when handling multiple assignments with competing deadlines
  • Ability to pay precise attention to detail; excellent work ethic; strong problem-solving skills
  • A fundamental understanding of bug tracking, versioning, and repository systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both Spanish and English
  • Fluency in written and spoken English at CEF B2 level or above 

 

Preferred skills/qualifications:

  • Experience in a customer-facing consulting capacity 
  • Previous experience in the education or knowledge management industry and with e-learning technologies (Anthology products preferred) 
  • An understanding of sequence design process (waterfall) and agile software development process methods
  • General experience with the MEAN stack and a focus in AngularJS 
  • Fluency in server-side CSS pre-processing platforms such as LESS and SASS 
  • Use of standard digital tools (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite, Omnigraffle, Balsamic) 
  • An understanding of code versioning tools such as Git/Stash/GitHub and Perforce 
  • Experience with mobile optimized responsive design
  • An understanding of key usages on Confluence, Jira Bug Tracking, Jira Agile (GreenHopper), and versioning and repository systems 
  • A basic knowledge of image authoring tools to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image (Gimp or Photoshop) 
  • A working knowledge of server platforms (Linux/Unix, Windows Server 2003-2008) 
  • A working knowledge of behavior-driven development, unit testing frameworks like Jasmine or SinonJS, and automatized functional testing infrastructures 
  • Experience in Spring MVC using Java
