Key responsibilities:

1. By-country execution of HQ’s strategic communications plan:
• Develop and execute comprehensive PR strategies for Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam and Indonesia, which are fully aligned with the overall strategy developed by our Singapore HQ.
• Work closely with business development, marketing, and other cross-functional teams in the markets mentioned above, aligning communication plans with business objectives and ensuring consistency in messaging.
2. Media relations:
• Cultivate and maintain relationships with local key media outlets, journalists, and influencers.
• Proactively pitch stories and secure media coverage in relevant regional publications.
• Develop and implement crisis contingency plans to effectively manage and mitigate potential issues.
3. Creative content development:
• Create compelling and relevant content, including press releases, articles, thought leadership pieces, and new media/social media content to be used by different channels.
4. Event management:
• Plan and execute PR events and media briefings, including supporting partner events / joint conferences in above markets
• Identify opportunities of industry conferences and speaking engagements for executives and country managers to participate.
5. Monitoring and reporting:
• Pick and manage competent local agencies to support in-house work in different markets, including monitoring media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and potential risk.
• Provide regular reports on PR activities and their impact on brand awareness.

Requirements:

• Proven experience of at least 5 years in communications, preferably in the fintech or Internet industry.
• Strong network of media contacts in Southeast Asia.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Speaking either of the local languages in the above-mentioned markets, or Chinese is a plus.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Experienced in working in a cross-cultural working environment and a SEA local culture lover.
• Willing to travel regularly to SEA markets.
