UX/UI Designer - Games For Young Kids

About the role:
We are seeking a passionate UX/UI designer to join in our exciting adventure to make delightful games that spark curiosity and joy in young kids, in partnership with one of the most beloved children's entertainment companies.
You will champion the child experience, design intuitive UXs with stunning visual design, do market research and use insights from user research, work with multiple brands, and propose personalized and user-friendly solutions.
The ideal candidate is a storyteller at heart, has a passion for creating simple and compelling experiences, is dedicated to understanding the user, has a great eye for design and fantastic attention to detail, handles ambiguity smoothly, communicates proactively, and plays great in a team.
Please note, the role is an 8-12 months remote contract of 40 hours/week, with core hours from 10 am to 5 pm US Eastern Time (EST).
The Quest:
- Simple and intuitive UX: design frictionless and joyful experiences that empower young players (ages 2 to 8) to explore, learn, and play.
- Visual excellence: bring the game to life with dazzling pixel-perfect interfaces that capture the magic of the brand.
- User testing: create sketches, wireframes, and prototypes for early user testing.
- Fuel Engagement: design intuitive interactions with a focus on curiosity, discovery, and user engagement.
- Collaborate and Create: work alongside talented UX designers, product managers, engineers, and artists to bring your vision to life.
- Iterate and Innovate: use peer feedback and user testing insights to refine and improve your designs and user-friendliness.
The Skills:
- Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in user experience, visual design, marketing, or related field, with a portfolio that showcases your expertise.
- UX design: concept and execution of the user experience through simple and playful design, applying UX principles.
- UI design: create beautiful interfaces with a keen eye on details, colors, and typography.
- Play design: collaborate in creating play experiences with a focus on curiosity and discovery.
- Self-management: prioritize and meet deadlines, show fantastic attention to detail, and handle ambiguity.
- Communication: excellent verbal and written English, great storytelling, precise documentation.
- Tools: proficiency in Figma, Photoshop, and Adobe Illustrator.
Nice to have:
- Highly preferred experience in products for kids or educational tech apps.
- Experience with gamification.
- Experience in video and motion graphics design.
