About the role
New quest on the map! New Corporate Development Manager position available!
The Corporate Development team is responsible for managing Amber’s M&A processes (including sourcing, evaluating, negotiating and executing opportunities). The team works closely with Amber’s senior executives, general managers and vertical leaders to execute on the company’s “Build & Buy” growth strategy. The team also coordinates with functional leaders across finance, legal, sales and ops to execute on the M&A pipeline, build financial models, drive due diligence, define success KPIs and integration plans.
Corporate Development also manages Amber’s investor relations and network (including updating and maintaining the company’s corporate presence online, investors decks, due diligence data rooms) and corporate governance matters (cap table management, board meetings, general shareholder meetings, etc).
The Quest:
- Based on Amber’s strategic objectives, identify and recommend relevant opportunities for M&A, across Amber’s target locations.
- Assist/lead on investment and acquisition opportunities – including research, evaluation, recommendation, due diligence, deal negotiations and post-deal integration.
- Work with Amber’s BI team to conduct relevant research (quantitative and qualitative analysis) and reporting for M&A.
- Work with Amber’s Finance team to build financial models and valuation analysis to support the evaluation of M&A opportunities.
- Work with the post-acquisition integration team to guide and support integration efforts.
- Create presentations and reports for Amber’s executive management and key deal stakeholders.
- Continuously monitor market trends to identify new M&A and business opportunities.
- Manage responsibilities related to investor relations and corporate governance, as required within the Corporate Development team and the company’s context.
- Attend industry events as necessary to identify potential partner studios / M&A targets and build relationships and your personal network.
- Work with the External Development team to identify strategic opportunities for M&A with promising vendors.
- The Corporate Development Manager role reports to the Head of Corporate Development.
The Skills:
- 2-3+ years of experience in corporate development, investment banking, management consulting or related roles.
- M&A transaction experience in technology or media sectors; experience in the video games industry is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance or Business Administration.
- Good understanding of the video game market and a personal interest in gaming.
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills – financial modeling experience is a plus.
- Organized, analytical thinker, problem-solving attitude.
- Startup mentality, able to play various roles during the corporate development deal.
- Ability to manage expectations appropriately while coordinating, planning, and meeting deadlines for deliverables in a fast-paced environment where projects span across teams.
- Good sense of perspective – able to switch between “details” and “big picture” as needed.
- Experience working with legal teams in the negotiation of non-commercial terms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills (in English).
