About the role: 

We are looking for a UI Unity Engineer to join our team and work on in-game modding tools. In this role, you will empower game developers to integrate mod support into their games by creating plugin experiences that are player-friendly and developer-friendly.

What to expect from the process: 
  • Profile Preselection: Our Talent Acquisition team will review your profile.

  • Talent Acquisition Interview: Selected candidates will be contacted to undergo an initial interview to discuss their experience, skills, and fit for the role.

  • Test: Qualified candidates will be invited to complete an assessment to demonstrate their abilities.

  • Technical Interview: Finalists will participate in a technical interview to assess their proficiency and compatibility with our team.

The quest: 
  • Architect and implement in-game UI plugins in the Unity engine.

  • Proactively communicate with teammates, clients, and stakeholders.

  • Prototype, iterate, and refine interaction flows.

  • Develop complex features such as mod recommendations and image caching.

  • Support the integration of virtual currency.

  • Expand existing platform support from Unreal to Unity.

  • Execute release management activities, such as packaging and GitHub workflows.

  • Partner with product, engineering, and design.

  • Manage your own work, identifying and mitigating project risks.

The skills: 
  • At least 7 years of experience in game development.

  • At least 4 years of experience with Unity Engine UI.

  • Fair knowledge of individual game engine Components (Rendering, AI, Networking, Navigation, Physics, UI).

  • Experience with UI materials and post process materials.

  • Solid knowledge of design patterns and coding architectural principles.

  • Familiarity with source control with Unity Engine in both P4V and GitHub.

Nice to have: 
  • Experience in making custom editor widgets.

  • Experience in working with plugins.

  • Experience with UI navigation code for gamepads, especially on a shipped title.

  • Good understanding of cross-platform game development.

  • Unreal Blueprint and UMG for UI/UX plugins.

Project details: 
  • Estimated start date in January.

  • Undefined duration - expected at least 6 months.

  • Working hours must be compatible with Romania time zone.
