Licensed Practical Nurse, Full Time

 

Chester Pediatrics has been in the White Plains community for over 60 years. We are seeking an LPN to assist our four Pediatricians.

 

We are seeking candidates for our Licensed Practical Nurse position. Flexibility, professional appearance, good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are crucial for this role. The office requires attention to details while maintaining a welcoming presence for both patients, their parents, and visitors.  This position would be best suited for an outgoing, positive energy person who appreciates cordial, professional employee relationships and close continuity of care with our families and children. 

 

Monday – Friday: 8:30am – 5:00pm

Rotating Saturdays: 8:30am – 12:00pm

Position Responsibilities:

  • Greeting, triaging, and rooming patients according to company standards
  • Records patient care documentation in EMR accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinates patient care as directed by physician’s company standards and policies.
  • Taking patient vitals, throat swabs, drawing blood, and assisting physician in minor procedures when necessary.
  • Pediatric blood draw (venipuncture and capillary) experience is required.  
  • Administering medications/vaccines as directed by the physician.
  • Process appropriate documents in an organized and accurate fashion.
  • Respects patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Preparing, restocking, and disinfecting examination rooms procedure room’s lab area and all other patient care areas at scheduled intervals as needed.
  • Representing practice in professional manner and treating all customers and fellow employees in a courteous and cooperative manner.
  • Running CBC and other basic labs.
  • Returning patient calls and giving lab results under physician’s guidance.
  • Assisting patients with referrals and prior authorizations.
  • Completing school and medical accommodation forms.
  • Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

  • Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing school required.
  • Certifications: Current New York license to practice professional nursing
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in pediatrics preferred, but not required Skills:

Experience:

  • Working knowledge of medical terminology
  • Demonstrated ability to perform dosage calculations and measurement conversions.
  • Basic computer literacy required
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • EMR experience (GE Centricity) preferred 
  • Phlebotomy

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Bi-Lingual English/Spanish a plus

Physical Requirements:

  • Medical office that is both physically and emotionally demanding
  • Standing or stooping for long periods of time.
  • Mild physical labor to complete the tasks at hand.
  • Exposure to blood, chemicals, and other bodily fluids.
  • Possible heavy lifting (infants, toddlers, children)

Compensation & Benefits offered:

(You must work a minimum of 30 hours a week to be eligible for benefits)

Pay Rate: $27.50/hr. Negotiable, Dependent Upon Experience
