Project Manager


Position Description:

OPEXUS is seeking an accomplished Project Manager with 4+ years of IT professional experience to lead one or multiple SDLC project teams implementing and operating COTS and customized web applications for Government customers. The candidate is required to have good communication skill to work with customer program manager and internal project team including business analysts and developers to facilitate the timeline and understand technical aspects of multiple implementations. The task requires project management, systems engineering, solutions, deployment, management, and support of the SaaS applications.


Location: DC Metro Area with Hybrid schedule available.


General roles & responsibilities:

  • Provide project management support including external and internal communications management, project governance, artifact management, and technical change control.
  • Provide technical leadership and management oversight of application management activities, ensuring resource optimization.
  • Create and manage project plan and schedule; ensure that all work products and deliverables are completed on-time, within budget, and meet project objectives.
  • Create and deliver project status reports; coordinate and execute project status/review meetings with customer stakeholders; maintain and track action items to completion.
  • Identify, document, communicate, manage and coordinate the resolution of project risks in a timely manner.
  • Manage project metrics, identify areas of improvement and implement lessons learned.
  • Coordinate with OPEXUS and agency system security resources to support update of security documentation and ensure security accreditation processes are followed.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • 4+ years of experience successfully managing large IT projects with a focus on applications design, development and operations.  
  • Demonstrated success leading multi-disciplined teams in Agile software development approach.
  • Experience preparing project plans, managing resources, monitoring performance, tracking budgets, and providing quality metrics reporting.
  • Strong customer management skills with experience leading customer meetings and preparing/delivering presentations.
  • Experience tracking and managing project resources, tasks, milestones, and deliverables using MS Project.
  • Well organized and detail oriented with strong written and oral communication skills.



  • B.S. degree or equivalent 4 years’ experience


Other Desirable Skills and Background:

  • Project management for the development and maintenance of enterprise web-based applications.
  • Experience with case management software
  • Knowledge and experience with Federal Security Practices and Assessments.
  • Project Management Profession (PMP) certification.
  • Familiar with Audit, Investigation or HR.


Security Clearance:

       US Citizenship with ability to get active Secret clearance, if required
