Job Overview
Responsibilities
- Assess current data sources, ETLs, and reporting frameworks.
- Lead the end‑to‑end migration of BI, reporting, and ETL processes into Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse, Warehouse, Pipelines).
- Modernize or replace legacy SSIS/SSRS/SSAS processes with Fabric‑native solutions.
- Design and implement a centralized, scalable, and secure Fabric data architecture for both batch and streaming data.
- Develop and maintain ingestion, transformation, and orchestration pipelines.
- Build and optimize Delta Lakehouse tables, semantic models, and datasets for reporting and AI workloads.
- Ensure data quality, lineage, and compliance with governance standards.
- Integrate data from Business Central, Dynamics Field Service, Salesforce, custom SQL sources, and AGSi streaming data.
- Manage Fabric capacities, workspaces, permissions, and cost optimization.
- Monitor platform performance, reliability, and data refresh SLAs.
- Apply best practices for Fabric security, data governance, and CI/CD automation.
- Partner with BI, Data Science, and business teams to enable machine learning and real‑time analytics.
- Support the development of a scalable self‑service data and reporting environment.
Skills/Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering.
- Hands‑on experience with Microsoft Fabric, Datawarehouse, Data Lake, Spark, or similar cloud data platforms.
- Strong SQL skills and proficiency with Python or PySpark.
- Experience migrating from on‑prem SQL/SSIS/SSAS/SSRS to cloud‑based architectures.
- Solid understanding of Delta Lake, medallion architecture, semantic modeling, and data governance.
- Experience with Power BI dataset modeling and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with streaming technologies (Event Hub, Kafka, Fabric Real‑Time Analytics).
- Exposure to AI integration, semantic models for AI, or Microsoft Copilot.
- Experience with Dynamics 365, Business Central, Salesforce, or similar systems is a plus.
- Strong understanding of cloud security, compliance, and best practices.
- Any Microsoft certification in a related data, analytics, or MS Fabric field is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and ability to work with both technical and non‑technical teams.
- Proactive ownership mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
