Located in Toronto, the Art Gallery of Ontario (“the AGO”) is one of the largest art museums in North America, with a collection of close to 100,000 works. Through the collection as well as collaborations with leading museums around the world, the AGO presents wide-ranging exhibitions and programs to approximately 1 million visitors annually.

We are currently seeking an Occasional Part-Time, Cook 2, Pastry to join our Food & Beverage team. Under the direction of the Manager, Culinary Operations, F&B, the incumbent will participate in pastry production for all Food & Beverage (F&B) venues with specific responsibility to Special Events and Restaurant.

The rate of pay for this position is $18.64- $23.65 per hour

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications, skills, and experience:   

• 4 or more years directly related experience at a high quality, volume, hospitality or retail operation.   
• Provincial Certificate of Qualification as Journeyman cook, or equivalent training or experience.  
• Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary creative cuisine.  
• Demonstrated knowledge of food handling and advanced cooking techniques.  
• Demonstrated ability to handle all kitchen equipment, and demonstrate safe handling to others  
• Demonstrated knowledge of food handling, safety and sanitation standards.  
• Teamwork, time management, and organization skills.  
• Demonstrated knowledge of hospitality practices and procedures  
• Well-developed communication skills, able to expedite, call line, in absence of chef/sous chef.
