As a result of our continued success, we are seeking a Junior Test Engineer to join our team of qualified individuals supporting a Government client located in Ft. Meade, MD. The candidate will need to have experience conducting the test efforts for various projects encompassing COTS software and custom developed applications in a highly integrated multi-vendor environment. and possess first-hand experience working in an agile development environment.

Job duties:

  • Perform analysis of documented user requirements and direct or assist in the design of test plans for moderately complex to highly complex software or IT systems
  • Work with other test engineers to develop, maintain, and perform automated and manual testing activities for a single project or subset of a larger projects
  • Be able to learn and understand technical solutions and applications to be able to perform manual testing as required
  • Ensure test design and documentation conclusions and recommendations are fully supported by test results and communicated with management and project teams
  • Work with project teams to ensure that test needs are clearly and cleanly articulated and accounted for under assigned projects
  • Provide test expertise in the development of test processes, standards, and guidelines for the function
  • Support current production system break/fix and enhancement efforts to include requirements review, test formulation, test scenario preparation, test execution, and test summary preparation
  • Document and analyze test results, produce status reports, and assist with the defect management process
  • Accurately estimate testing efforts for project planning and tracking and provide input to project master schedule
  • Proactively identify areas for improvement in process and regularly assess documentation and reports for accuracy and improvement
  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills: 

  • Experience setting up test environments, executing test cases, and tracking defects
  • Experience in defining acceptance criteria and coordinating and executing IT testing
  • Experience creating and executing test plans and procedures and documenting the expected and actual results
  • Hands-on experience in developing testing artifacts (performance test scripts, scenarios, monitors)
  • Able to interact easily and professionally with clients
  • Experience with an automated testing tool, in both test definition and test execution.
  • Understanding fundamental agile concepts
  • Experience with Java
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Experience with Jenkins
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (such as Docker)
  • Understanding of database concepts (primarily Oracle DB)
  • Experience in customer service relations and problem solving
  • Experience with documentation templates and automated documentation
  • Previous DISA/DoD Experience a plus

Education, Certification, and Experience:

  • Requires a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience
  • Requires one of the following certifications for DoD 8570.01 compliance: CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH
  • Previous testing experience is a strong plus

Security Clearance:

  • Active/current DoD Secret Clearance or higher
  • Investigation/Reinvestigation completed within the last 5 years

Work Location:

  • Annapolis Junction, MD, and/or Ashburn, VA
  • Some work will be done at Ft. Meade, MD
