The Data and Insights Specialist supports the agency's overall strategic development and research with innovation at its core. He or she acts as a coach to the Accounts, Planning and Strategy teams when developing strategic plans, as well as supports the development of strategic cases for new business efforts for local (US General Market) prospects.  

Essential Job Functions:

  • Support Strategy Director during the development of client’s annual strategies
  • Participate in local pitches
  • Strategy and Insights:
  • Guide creative ideas connection within media planning teams by utilizing primary & secondary research, leading brainstorm activities, and educating about industry trends.
  • Collaborate on MAP process creation, under the supervision of 3i Director.
  • Look for constant technology proliferation, trend analysis, consumer segmentation, target development, and connections planning.
  • Manage consumer insight development for all HMI USA.
  • Act as liaison between HMI USA and industry research partners like Mintel, GfK MRI, Experian, etc.
  • Data and Research:
  • Manage competitive intelligence projects for HMI USA and USA New Business pitches including automation and customization of monthly analysis.
  • Contributes to data and information collection, analysis, and presentation of fixed client deliverables.
  • Works with multiple data applications, summarizing data trends into Power Point charts and graphs, and establishing a baseline interpretation of activity.
  • Provides day-to-day interaction with media planning and buying teams
  • Supports Ad Hoc requests, performs data retrieval and processing routines, and contributes to new business initiatives.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of five years of experience in a strategic and research media roles


Skills and Competencies:

  • Native Speaker (English), Spanish/Portuguese are optional
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills
  • Ability to clearly distill complex research concepts/techniques into simple, relevant meaning  
  • Creative thinker with the ability to break down and connect data into a straightforward, insightful story
  • Ability to quickly identify and understand client pain points and address with solutions that fits needs
  • Knowledge of digital/direct media and marketing analysis preferred
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills
  • In depth knowledge of Nielsen Tools (Simmons), KANTAR (SRDS and Stradegy), ComScore, Google Trends and eMarketer.
  • Heavy usage of Microsoft Access, SPSS, SQL server, Excel.
