Reporting to the Associate Finance Director, the Staff Accountant is responsible for the month end close function for multiple Havas business units. As part of a team serving multiple business units, they are exposed to all aspects of financial forecasting and accounting across a wide range of business unites within the marketing and communications sector. This role is ideal for someone ready to take on more responsibility and eager to learn functions across the entire enterprise.


  • Month-end close function for multiple business units including journal entries and reporting final financial statements
  • Reconcile all balance sheet accounts monthly, identify and report issues
  • Reconcile ledgers to sub-ledgers monthly (AR, AP, WIP, NBV, etc.)
  • Monthly state & local sales tax preparation
  • Backup for AP workflow processing
  • Audit monthly payroll uploads
  • Prepare monthly P&L account detail analysis
  • Prepares intracompany billing as needed
  • Assist other team members as needed to achieve monthly deadlines

Critical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance preferred
  • Efficient, detail-oriented, highly organized
  • Natural problem solver
  • Able to multi-task, strong time management skills
  • Adaptable and flexible
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Comfortable with data analysis
  • Comfortable communicating with internal and external partners
  • Hungry to learn and grow
  • At least 1 year experience with general ledger duties
