Who We Are:

Cake is the sport and entertainment agency of Havas in the UK. We help brands entertain people, on the basis that no-one likes being sold at. We either work with brands through sport, music, film, fashion or gaming, or we earn their attention through content.


We operate at the heart of Havas in the UK, straddling the creative and media agencies. Our work sees us working with brands, alongside some of the world’s biggest entertainment properties. Our clients include Barclays, EE, Coca-Cola, BBC, Carling, Sony, EA, Hyundai, Doom Bar, Studio Canal – and we work them with across properties that include the Premier League, Wembley Connected by EE, Glastonbury, BAFTA Awards, British & Irish Lions and many more.


Our area of experts include insight and analytics, partnerships, PR, social, events and experiential, content, creative. 


What We’re Looking For:

To provide insight and ideas that support Cake’s creative output in partnerships, PR, events and social media. You act as a focal point for new business and significant moments with existing clients, enabling the agency to deconstruct briefs, respond with campaigns that creatively “wow” clients, and deliver against their business objectives.  You will lead clients and influence Cake and Havas decision makers.



Strategic Counsel To Cake Clients & Employees

Your role is to make use of all the tools and Havas brains within our business to mine insights and create ideas that propel our clients’ businesses. You will work alongside Cake’s insight and analytics team, as well as the insight and data teams across Havas to access those brains and tools.


You will also look to work directly with clients – using data, insight, research and ideas – that advise them on how Cake and its disciplines can build their businesses. This should result in paid-for work with clients, as they demand your time.


Enabling Idea Generation

You will be a focal point for idea generation within the agency, acting as a lynchpin between the account teams, and creative. Forging a strong relationship with key creative decision makers, eg creative directors inside Cake and more broadly across Havas, managing partners and key account heads will be a critical factor in making this role a success. You will have the ability to create an environment that enables quality ideas to be generated across the agency.


You will have sufficient experience and credibility to be able to work with different aspects of Cake – namely partnerships, activation, PR, social and experiential.


Thought Leadership

From time to time, you will be called upon to provide ‘thought leadership’ in the form of presentations, speeches or articles either to deliver for yourself – or to provide the content for other senior members of Cake to deliver to promote the company. Keeping abreast of trends in marketing and media, and then converting into digestible content is an important component of the role.


Research & Analysis

You will have a proven ability to understand and interpret business data, translate your findings into coherent conversations with clients, and legible briefs inside the agency. You should be adept at using planning and data tools working with our insight team.


Evaluation & Measurement

You will have a broad understanding and will be adept at handling the broad range of evaluation mechanics employed by clients and agencies to measure their effectiveness. You will be required to contribute strongly within clients’ offices and the Havas network about the effectiveness of Cake’s work. In addition you will be comfortable and aware of the measurement criteria used by creative and media agencies. 


New Business Leadership

Finally, you will be required to play an influential role in new business, forming strategies and ideas that win pitches. An ability to write presentations and documents as part of the new business process is fundamental to the role.


The Likely Candidate:

Most likely you are a planner from an advertising, media, sponsorship or creative agency. You will have played a significant role leading FMCG, consumer or entertainment-based clients through brand or media strategies.


As with all planners you will be inquisitive, curious and creative – but with a robust backbone built on command of data, research and analysis. You will be convincing and credible in front of senior clients and decision makers. And you’ll be likeable – you’ll have an ability to motivate people and teams at every level.
