Overview
The Micro and Nanofabrication Facility is an open-access user facility that provides training and support throughout the development chain in cleanroom processes: device modelling and design, process integration and device fabrication, packaging and testing.
We are looking for a qualified Engineer to reinforce our team and activities within device microfabrication and nanotechnology.
Job Duties
The job duties will be the following:
- Develop, optimise, and control dry etch processes to reduce cost, process variability, and improve process capability;
- Perform process characterisation, data analysis, and reporting to improve etch quality;
- Collaborate with INL Research Groups to develop new technology integration;
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and resolve process-related issues to minimise downtime;
- Interface with equipment vendors for installation, maintenance, and upgrades;
- Ensure process compliance with quality standards and safety protocols.
Mandatory Qualifications
Education
- MSc degree in Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience and Technical Skills
- Previous experience in micro and nanofabrication processes, with a focus on dry etch processes;
- Proficiency in operating and maintaining dry etch tools (e.g., plasma, RIE, or ICP systems);
- Hands-on experience in process recipe development and etch parameter tuning;
- Strong data analysis skills, including the use of statistical process control (SPC) methods.
Other Valued Skills and Qualifications
- PhD in Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field;
- Knowledge of thin film deposition and integration is a plus;
- Familiarity with design of experiments (DOE) methodologies;
- Experience with CAD or simulation tools for process modelling;
- Exposure to cleanroom environments and ISO standards.

How the Selection Process works
A. Applications eligibility check
