Overview

 

INL is seeking a talented Graphics Designer to join our creative team. As a Communication, Conference and Marketing Officer your role will be crucial in shaping the visual identity of funded projects, events, and INL initiatives as well as in creating visually captivating content to reach diverse audiences through various media channels.

 

Job Duties

 

The job duties include the following:

Design Development:

 

  • Create visually appealing designs using graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.).
  • Develop layouts, graphics, and visual elements for print and digital media.
  • Produce drafts for review and make revisions based on feedback.
  • Craft dynamic and engaging content that resonates with our target audience.
  • Create templates to be used by supporting units outside the design team.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to understand project requirements.

 

Brand Identity and Logo Design:

 

  • Develop brand identities including logos, color palettes, typography, and visual elements.
  • Ensure consistency in branding across all materials and platforms.

 

Print Design:

 

  • Design marketing collateral such as brochures, flyers, posters, and banners.
  • Prepare print-ready files and liaise with print vendors to ensure quality output.
  • Develop images, layouts, and animations using design software and either self-created or stock images/design elements.

Project Management Assistance:

  • Collaborate with implementation communication actions within funded projects following specific guidelines from the respective funding agencies.
  • Craft dynamic and engaging content that resonates with our target audience.
  • Create templates to be used by supporting units outside the design team.
  • Create visual identity manuals for new projects.

Web Design:

  • Collaborate with web developers to create cohesive design strategy.
  • Select and edit images or photos for websites.
  • Choose fonts and colour schemes that align with our brand.
  • Create webpages or update existing ones to document project outcomes.

 

Testing, Refinement, and Upkeeping:

  • Ensure graphics work seamlessly across various media channels.
  • Gather feedback and iterate on designs.
  • Maintain consistency and brand integrity.

 

Dissemination and Communication:

  • Liaise with internal customers to prepare and disseminate material such as: banners, roll-ups, signage, badges, certificates, QR-Codes and graphic support material such as program booklets, abstract booklets, poster lists, labels, and programs for events, initiatives, and projects.

Support Actions:

  • Support with the curation of disseminated material to prepare internal and external newsletters.
  • Photography editing and posting.
  • On-site support for events.
  • Social media support.

Onboarding of new INL members:

  • Engage with new members of INL by taking their corporate photo, preparing their ID card designs, synchronizing with their website profile.
  • Consolidate newcomers presentations and provide training on communication procedures.

 

Mandatory Qualifications

 

Education

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • University Degree/MSc in Graphic Design or a related field.

 

Technical Skills

  • Proven experience with a strong portfolio showcasing graphic design skills.
  • Proficiency in graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Excellent computer skills (Internet, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint).
  • Understanding of design principles, typography, and color theory.

Personal Skills

  • Customer-oriented attitude.
  • Clearly demonstrated communication skills (written and oral).
  • Proficiency in English, Portuguese and/or Spanish.
  • Collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work methodically as part of a team.
  • High level of personal discipline and integrity.

How the Selection Process works

A. Applications eligibility check

This stage will be carried out on the basis of the mandatory requirements, education, experience and technical skills defined for the job, as well as the validation of the mandatory documents. Only candidates who meet the eligibility criteria will move forward to the next stage.

 

B. CV Assessment

The Selection Committee will evaluate the eligible applications based on their CV and other submitted documents and the suitability for the position. The best ranked candidates will be shortlisted for the interview stage(s).

C. Interview(s)

The interview(s) may be done in different formats: video recording, online or onsite.

The question-based interview will evaluate the match between the candidate’s profile and the requirements for the position, including the technical and personal skills. To better support this stage, the candidate may be requested to prepare a short presentation.

D. Nomination

The selected candidate will be nominated and formally offered the position, including the disclosure of the contractual conditions.
