Overview

The Salomé Research Group is dedicated to upscaling of nanotechnology in energy and optoelectronic devices.  The current group portfolio consists of 3 National, 3 European and 2 Industrial service projects in a team of close to 30 researchers. These projects are helping Portugal, Iberia and Europe to incorporate nanotechnology in a multitude of applications and to increase our understanding of nanotechnology. The group interacts with an assortment of partners, from academia to the industry including policy makers and state officials. Our mission is to revolutionise energy and optoelectronic devices through cutting-edge nanotechnology.

 

We are looking for a Postdoc Researcher to join our team under the project Hi-BITS – High efficiency bifacial thin film chalcogenide solar cells, funded by the Horizon Europe Research and Innovation Action grant no. 101122203.

 

Job Duties

The job duties will be the following:

  • Optical modelling of CIGS solar cells;
  • Nanofabrication of light management structures for CIGS solar cells;
  • Characterise and fabricate CIGS solar cell;
  • Hi-BITS technical reporting.

 

Mandatory Qualifications

 

Education

  • PhD in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering or related areas.*

 

*Candidates finishing their PhD will still be considered eligible for evaluation, but will only be able to start once the degree is concluded

 

Experience and Technical Skills

  • Experience in optical modelling;
  • Experience with CIGS solar cells;
  • Light management.

 

Other Valued Skills

  • Experience with clean room microfabrication;
  • Optoelectronics characterisation and fabrication;
  • Experience with Horizon Europe and other funded projects;
  • Experience writing technical reports.

 

Personal Skills

  • “Hands-on” approach together with a high commitment in respecting working deadlines;

A. Applications eligibility check

D. Nomination
