Overview
The Bañobre Research Group focus is nanomedicine for the development of diagnostic and therapeutic approaches towards an early and unequivocal diagnosis and treatment of cancer, inflammatory and neurological diseases. To this aim the group covers from fundamental research on the identification and validation of diseases’ biomarkers and cellular interactions, to a more applied cross-disciplinary research focused on the development of technologies and nanostructures (inorganic, organic, hybrid) for precision disease diagnosis, therapy and theranostics.
We are currently looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher to join our team under the TEN4CARE project.
Job Duties
The job duties will be the following:
- Synthesise magnetic nanoparticles and nanocomposites.
- Surface functionalisation of nanomaterials.
- Comprehensive physicochemical characterisation of (nano)materials.
- Cell culture techniques and biological assays.
- Participate in consortium meetings and collaborative activities.
- Prepare and present regular progress reports.
Mandatory Qualifications
Education
- PhD in Nanotechnology, Nanomedicine, Chemistry, Biochemistry or equivalent field.
Experience and Technical Skills
- Experience in nanotechnology and/or nanomedicine research.
- Hands-on experience in the synthesis and physicochemical characterisation of nanomaterials, including magnetic nanoparticles and nanocomposites.
- Experience in the functionalisation of nanostructures with bioactive agents (e.g., small molecules, peptides, proteins, nucleic acids).
- Proficiency in advanced characterisation techniques, such as TEM, SEM, ICP, TGA, HPLC, VSM, SQUID, MRI, and magnetic hyperthermia.
- Experience in mammalian cell culture and in vitro biological assays for the evaluation of nanomaterial–cell interactions.
Other Valued Skills
- Advanced cell culture skills: co-culture, spheroids, organoids and microfluidic-integration.
- Drug delivery systems.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge on NMR, MRI and Magnetic Hyperthermia.
- Knowledge on organic and polymeric chemistry.
- Experience in nanomedical applications, including regenerative medicine.
- Previous participation in collaborative national, international and/or industrial research projects.

How the Selection Process works
