Overview

The Salomé Research Group (Nanofabrication, Optoelectronics, and Energy Applications) is dedicated to developing nanofabrication and applications for optoelectronics and energy. Focused on developing nanofabrication solutions for a diverse set of applications, via several mechanisms such as competitive funding projects and industrial services. The group aims to keep advancing the state-of-the-art in several areas.

 

We are looking for a Postdoc Researcher, together with a multinational semiconductor company, to join our team in developing new deposition techniques aligned with the industry needs. The role is hands-on, involving practical work in the cleanroom and documenting the results and experiments conducted.

 

 

Job Duties

The job duties will be the following:

  • Perform hands-on tasks in a cleanroom environment;
  • Conduct experiments on new deposition processes and tools;
  • Grow and characterise thin films;
  • Document experiments, testing procedures, results and findings;
  • Operate an atomic layer deposition tool aimed to perform area selective deposition.

 

Mandatory Qualifications

 

Education

  • PhD degree in Physics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Materials Engineering or other related fields

 

Experience and Technical Skills

  • Prior experience in a cleanroom and/or laboratory setting;
  • Knowledge of the Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) process;
  • Familiarity with thin-film characterisation techniques;
  • Understanding of chemical surface modification processes;
  • Skilled in reporting and documenting experimental work.

The question based interview will evaluate the match between the candidate’s profile and the requirements for the position, including the technical and personal skills. To better support this stage, the candidate may be requested to prepare a short presentation.

 

D. Nomination
