Overview

The Salomé Research Group (NOA) is dedicated to upscaling of nanotechnology in energy and optoelectronic devices.    

We are looking for a versatile researcher who enjoys working across multiple disciplines, thrives on variety, and is motivated to work on solutions for the green energy transition. In this role, you will contribute to several topics, from electronics and mechanics to optics, testing, and integration, helping to shape a new process from the beginning.

The person hired will join our team in the “Development of a new photovoltaic solar energy generation solution integrated into agricultural practices (Agri-PV)” project, of the ATE Agenda, under the PRR framework.

 

Job Duties

The job duties will be the following:

 

  • Collaborate with a small team to advance optical sensor prototypes from concept through to early sample stage;
  • Design, develop, and test electronics, mechanical, and optical components for sensor systems;
  • Develop and implement test systems to evaluate sensor performance;
  • Conduct hands-on testing and troubleshooting of prototypes, identifying and resolving technical challenges;
  • Integrate components and subsystems to ensure functionality of the sensor system;
  • Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to source components, review specifications, and ensure quality standards;
  • Analyse and document test results, providing insights to inform design improvements;
  • Contribute to product design discussions, actively providing ideas and solutions.

 

Mandatory Qualifications

 

Education

  • MSc degree in Physics Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or similar.

 

Experience and Technical Skills

  • Experience with electronics design and troubleshooting;
  • Experience in mechanical design and prototyping;
  • Understanding of optics;
  • Experience with test system development;
  • Experience in data analysis.

Other Valued Skills

  • Understanding of photovoltaics technology;
  • Optics design;
  • Product development;
  • Experience in Python and LabVIEW.

How the Selection Process works
 

A. Applications eligibility check
