Job Description

CSCI Consulting is seeking a Military Sealift Command Financial SME who will provide support for the Air Force Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR). This position will: assess, evaluate and recommend actionable corrective actions in relation to Military Sealift Command. Draft work papers/white papers/NFRs, developing audit test plans, analyzing financial statements, and evaluating internal controls. Be expected to apply subject matter expertise to evaluate cross-functional processes and the transactions that impact financial reporting.


Minimum Requirements

  • Active Department of Defense Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Experience of eight (8) or more years in a related area of the Navy or Sealift Command specifically.
  • Navy legacy financial management systems and processes Navy policies, systems and procedures for personnel, acquisition, inventory, property and material management DoD and Air Force financial management policies and procedures.
  • Experience of eight (8) or more years with accounting and financial statement audits including three (3) or more years of progressive experience in leading business management and/or financial management services projects Experience performing financial statement audits in DoD, federal agencies, or commercial Fortune 400 organizations and/or preparation of assertion packages.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting and experience with financial statement audits
  • Financial statements audit experience
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel throughout the organization.
  • Ability to work as a team member, creating and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Ability to work with clients to understand their needs.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain a positive relationship with customers and other vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Professional presence is required.
  • All candidates must be U.S. Citizens and be able to pass a Federal background investigation.

Preferred Skills

  • CPA Preferred but not required.
  • Working Capital Fund experience is highly desired
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain a positive relationship with customers and other vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies.
  • Capability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
  • Possess motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value.
  • Experience working for the Department of Defense.
