Job Description

CSCI Consulting is seeking a Software Tester/Analyst. The Software Tester/Analyst creates test plans, performs tests, and documents and communicates software testing results. Ensures completed software meets established standards. Validates end user documentation. They will interface with the development teams and client business analysts as required. They will participate in system requirements reviews, critical design reviews, test readiness reviews and pre/post implementation reviews as part of the defined system development life cycle.


  • Plan test approach based on business requirements.
  • Design test plans, scenarios, scripts, or procedures.
  • Manually test any new software to ensure functional requirements, system compliance and technical specifications are adhered to.
  • Conduct software compatibility tests with programs, hardware, operating systems, or network environments.
  • Create / maintain databases of known test defects.
  • Work across departments to validate actual test results against expected results.
  • Review and document defects against business documentation throughout the systems development life-cycle.
  • Verify and revise quality assurance standards as needed.
  • Communicate test progress, test results, and other relevant information to project stakeholders and management.
  • Analyze complex situations and recommend solutions to the client.
  • Recommend areas for process improvement.

  Minimum Requirements

  • Experience with System Development Life Cycle models (Primarily Waterfall, Agile is possible) required.
  • 6 + years of software testing experience required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Quality Center software
  • Working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies.
  • Ability to work with clients to understand their needs.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain a positive relationship with customers and other vendors.
  • Demonstrated ability to comply with data standards and policies.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Professional presence is required.
  • All candidates must be U.S. Citizens and be able to pass a Federal background investigation.

Preferred Skills

  • Working knowledge of PL/SQL a plus.
  • Department of Defense experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures for full product development life-cycle desired.
  • Ability to prioritize, plan, organize and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to effectively present to and interact with all levels of management
  • Capability to work in a team environment, as well as independently.
  • Possess motivation to learn new technologies and methodologies that demonstrate value.
  • Past experience working for a Federal Agency.
