The Lumistella Company is looking for a Production and Inventory Planner to join our team! The Production and Inventory Planner is responsible for planning and managing the production and inventory levels of The Lumistella Company products.

The Production and Inventory is responsible for developing a Production Purchasing plan-based evergreen items and Sales forecasts of new items aligning with year-end warehouse inventory plan and managing purchasing and production to achieve that plan. He/she works closely with the Supply Chain Planner to balance inventory to meet customer orders from multiple warehouses.

He/she creates, compiles, cross-references, and distributes production flows, materials reports, sample requests, and other types of production related data. He/she interfaces with factories, suppliers, sub-contractors, and internal company stakeholders to receive and disseminate information to ensure coordinated production processes and on-time delivery of product.

The ideal candidate will bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; major in Supply Chain Management, Business, Accounting, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a related field preferred.
  • 2-4 years of related transferrable work experience in a professional office environment;
  • Experience in a production or supply chain tracking required;
  • Advanced knowledge in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint required; Experience using an ERP system, Microsoft Navision preferred;
  • Ability to collect, aggregate, organize, compare, and distribute data from factories, suppliers, and sub-contractors to key team members;
  • Ability to work closely with all overseas manufacturers to ensure product timelines, exit dates and product specifications are met;
  • An understanding of the nuances required in communicating to Asia-based vendors and a flexibility and willingness to do so during off-hours (i.e. evenings and weekends); and
  • Excellent project management skills and exceptional attention to detail; Brings care and thoughtfulness to their work – highly attentive to the details; Skilled at proactive planning and time management – proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; Highly organized and disciplined.

 

Essential Job functions include:

  • Develops annually production forecast based on historical sales and newly developed products to prepare annual “Buy Plan”;
  • Develops annually a year-end warehouse inventory plan by item that will maximize yearly revenue goals while limiting aged inventory;
  • Collaborates with Finance on production invoice reconciliation at end of production season to ensure invoices match to purchase orders prior to paying suppliers;
  • Creates and maintains weekly production capacity report by item to prepare production schedules via WIP reports and sending to Factories for manufacturing of The Lumistella Company products; Engages with NPD, Sales, Supply Chain and factories to establish critical milestones in production, manages changes in plans to adjust production schedules accordingly and executes on time delivery with Supply Chain, where possible to meet any changes in schedules;
  • Maintains the WIP (Work in Process) management tool along with preparing Assembly Orders as it relates to guaranteeing on time factory exit dates and import pick-up dates for all bulk purchase orders; Notifies Director of Sourcing and Production of variances that will impact key dates;
  • Collaborates and coordinates with the Director of Sourcing and Production and the Executive Team to input Sales forecast into “Buy Plan” and monitor forecast against production weekly capacity to meet targeted exit dates;
  • Monitor’s workflow schedules, volume data, in/out processes, timelines and production reports, and notifies Director of Sourcing and Production of any issues or inconsistencies on a daily basis;
  • Tracks and logs the progress of goods as they are being manufactured and communicates production status to stakeholders on a timely basis; collaborates with Logistics Manager to ensure on time booking and sailing/arrivals to meet inventory needs; and
  • Monitor’s material inventory reports, tracks progress against production schedules, and notifies Director of Sourcing and Production of any identified supply chain issues; Coordinates with supply chain personnel to ensure production activities and changes in production schedules are communicated.
