Recruitment Associate - 6 month assignment

The Zymeworks People Team is looking for a Recruitment Associate to join us for a 6 month assignment. The Recruitment Associate is the key contact for our new hires and their managers to ensure they have an excellent experience through onboarding and orientation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guides new hires, hiring managers, and other stakeholders through hire and onboarding: prepares offers of employment, submits and monitors background checks, submits JIRA tickets to kickoff new hire activities, creates onboarding itineraries, and facilitates new hire orientations.
  • Supports career fairs and other recruitment events. May participate in events as a company ambassador.
  • Supports the oversight and use of external recruitment resources in conjunction with recruiters.
  • Proactively identifies opportunities to improve existing processes and/or implements new ones.
  • Serves as a backup for recruitment coordinators in the candidate generation and interview processes as needed.
  • Participates in People Team initiatives and projects as needed.
  • Maintains employee records, including electronic and hard copy files.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and 2+ years of related HR experience, preferably in Talent Acquisition.
  • A passion for innovative solutions and process improvement.
  • Knowledge or familiarity with HCM/HRIS systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a high paced, fast changing environment. 
  • Excellent attention to detail and proven experience concurrently managing multiple, competing demands.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
