Zymeworks is seeking a highly motivated IT Business Analyst who is looking to grow their career with our company. 

This position will report to Lead, Enterprise Applications (Clinical & Regulatory) and will be located in either Seattle, WA or Vancouver, BC.

Job Description and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for starting with conceptual information, methodically clarifying it within the broader business context, driving cross-functional alignment, translating solution pieces for execution teams, and supporting deployment to and ongoing execution by operational team.
  • Clarifies business needs to facilitate the formulation of solutions through system and process improvements by leading/conducting process analysis and/or feasibility studies with end users, to identify and evaluate functional and non-functional requirements for the procurement, alignment and implementation of new and existing business system solutions.
  • Assist in authoring of system development lifecycle documentation specific to validation systems, including but not limited to validation plans IQ/OQ/PQ protocols and summary reports, trace matrix, URS and test scripts.
  • Work collaboratively with users and use change management techniques in defining, implementing and documenting changes in user processes, testing and implementation plans, test executions and detailed documentation of application setup and usage.
  • Support Commercial, Quality, Clinical and Regulatory system upgrades with release notes impact assessments and regression testing adhering to Zymeworks policies and procedures.
  • Assess regulatory compliance of business requirements with IT general controls within the FDA CFR 21 Part 11, COSO and SOX frameworks.
  • Maintain a good working relationship with systems & application vendors.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline and a minimum of 5 years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Additional certifications relating to business analysis actively utilized by Zymeworks should be maintained.
  • Experience in supporting software in regulated environments and knowledge of computer systems validation process and procedures.
  • Experience with a variety of application delivery models such as SaaS, PaaS and iPaaS is preferred.
  • Experience with Veeva Vaults and Salesforce CRM preferred.
  • Collaborative communication skills with the ability to translating technical subjects or jargon into language that employees at every level of the company can understand.
  • Analytical mind, enjoy solving problems, and have an ability to perform deep thoughtful analysis to discover solutions.
  • Proven interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team.
  • Track record in achieving operational excellence where personal drive, high quality work, and getting things done are critical success factors.
  • Maintains an awareness of new technologies, trends and developments in order to improve service and create efficiencies within the department. Keeps up to date with relevant professional literature and participates in seminars and training workshops as required.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
