The Global Marketing Lead, Oncology is responsible for the development of the franchise and brand strategy of Zymeworks’ oncology clinical-stage assets:  ZW25 (zanidatamab – in registrational phase 2 trial) and ZW49 (HER2 anti-body drug conjugate - in phase 1 dose finding study).

 

This position will report to the Senior Vice President, Commercial and will be based in Vancouver, BC or Seattle, WA.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of the pre-launch and launch strategy of each asset, as well as tactical executions in collaboration with Medical Affairs, Value & Access and other relevant functions.
  • Develop a strong value proposition, positioning and (co)-positioning for the asset(s) and ensure that the strategy is comprehensive.
  • Collaborate with Business Analytics & Insights (BAI), Clinical Development, Diagnostics, Medical Affairs, Publications, Value and Access to develop, in priority order, ZW25 strategy in Biliary Tract Cancers (targeted BLA submission in 2022) and Gastroesophageal Adenocarcinoma (phase 3 registrational study starting in 2021).
  • Initiate similar work to develop the brand strategy for ZW49.
  • Frame the strategic business questions and work with BAI to support the design and execution of the research.
  • Work in close collaboration with regional partners, distributors, or Zymeworks’ affiliates to adapt the global strategy for their markets.
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, including the market, customer, and patient research activities in collaboration with BAI.
  • Select and work with advertising agencies and vendors to develop key tactics in support of ZW25 prelaunch and launch.
  • Drive the promotional materials approval process in collaboration with Medical, Legal, and Regulatory approval for all tactics.
  • Partner with BAI to provide robust and regular commercial competitive intelligence and pre-launch and launch key performance indicators.
  • Bring commercial input and represent customer and patient voices to the Product Strategy Teams to shape the clinical development and Life Cycle Management plans of the assets.

Education

 

  • Bachelor of Science or Commerce degree; MBA or PharmD preferred.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum 12 years relevant marketing experience in pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry, including minimum 6 years of global and US marketing experience.
  • Deep knowledge of Oncology (solid tumors) required; HER2-targeted therapy experience preferred.
  • Prelaunch/Launch experience required.
  • Experience working in complex team environments with numerous/diverse stakeholders, including alliance partners, across the globe.
  • Demonstrated experience working on global cross-functional teams across development phases from discovery through launch.
  • Proven ability to work independently demonstrating strong organizational, prioritization and analytical skills while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to apply good judgment and lead problem solving within the team.
  • Proven vendor selection and management experience; advanced project and budget management skills and experience.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Ability to travel on an as-needed basis to Zymeworks’ Vancouver office, market research locations, or conference locations.
