ZoomCare is seeking a Medical Lab Technician to join our team! The Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is responsible for aiding providers in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of diseases by accurately testing patient specimens, correlating data and reporting results in a timely manner to support quality patient care. The MLT will use analytical thinking, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure to deliver accurate and timely results. By providing essential laboratory support, MLTs directly contribute to enhancing patient outcomes and overall healthcare delivery.

  • Ensure reagents and supplies are ordered when needed.
  • Perform and report laboratory tests according to instructions, documenting results and reviewing for accuracy.
  • Handle biohazardous body fluids while following universal precautions.
  • Prepare samples for analysis by following documented protocols.
  • Follow all safety precautions and adhere to laboratory processes. 
  • Analyze laboratory reports for accuracy; Maintain detailed records and documentation of laboratory procedures, test results, and quality assurance activities.
  • Follow all documented protocols to ensure the accuracy of test results.
  • Perform maintenance and clean of work spaces and instruments as required.
  • Prepare various solutions such as calibrators, QC, reagents and maintaining related documentation.
  • Run Quality Control tests and properly document results per protocol.
  • Perform troubleshooting as required.
  • Handle and dispose of biohazardous body fluids and specimens in accordance with universal precautions and established safety protocols.
  • Maintain awareness of biohazard safety guidelines and follow proper containment and disposal procedures.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of laboratory equipment and workspaces to ensure optimal functionality and cleanliness.
  • Adhere to instrument maintenance schedules and perform preventive maintenance tasks as required.
  • Enter test results, quality control data, and other laboratory information accurately into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) or electronic databases.
  • Exhibit strong attention to detail and adherence to laboratory processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Completion of an approved program for Medical Laboratory Technicians.
  • ASCP, AMT or equivalent certification.
  • Working knowledge of chemistry, hematology, and immunoassay instrumentation.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferred.
  • Manual dexterity.
  • Phlebotomy skills and experience are favored, but not required.
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Holiday and weekend rotations required.
  • Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and reaching overhead.
  • Occasional crouching, kneeling, and bending.
  • Prolonged periods working at a desk and working on a computer.
