ZoomCare is seeking an Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer to join our team at Super! ZoomCare Super is a fast, affordable ER alternative. Staffed with board-certified emergency physicians and equipped with X-Ray, CT, and Ultrasound, Super can treat 80% of the reasons why adults and kids go to the Emergency Room.  Working at Super offers a stress free alternative to a traditional hospital ER. The Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer is responsible for providing diagnostic medical sonography services and its various clinical specialties. The Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer activities are performed consistent with their education and training, and in accordance with facility policies and procedures and applicable professional standards. The Ultrasound Technologist/Sonographer functions as a healthcare technician who, working under the delegated authority of the supervising physician, serves as a medical imaging professional providing clinically relevant information to assist the physician with the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
 
SCHEDULE AND TRAINING 
  • Location: ZoomCare Tualatin Valley Super Clinic 

    • 17815 SW 65th Ave, Lake Oswego, OR 97035 

  • Schedule: 3x12 hour shifts 

    • Thursday – Saturday 

    • 7:30am-8pm 

  • Depending on the position and associated requirements, there may be additional mandatory training requirements that are outside of your scheduled shift.

  • Provide patient services consistent with the Scope of Practice and Clinical Standards for the Diagnostic Sonographer.

  • Apply independent, professional, ethical judgment, and critical thinking to safely perform diagnostic sonography procedures.

  • Maintain patient privacy and confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws (e.g., HIPAA) and facility policies, and procedures.

  • Review patient medical history and supporting clinical information to ensure that the sonography examination order is complete, contains relevant information, and meets the standard of “medical necessity.” 

  • Evaluate patient contraindications, insufficient patient preparation, and the patient’s inability or unwillingness to tolerate the examination and associated procedures. Identify and document any limitations to the sonography examination.

  • Prepare exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct sonography examinations in accordance with infections disease, sterilization, and patient safety protocols, policies, and procedures.

  • Communicate with the patient in a manner appropriate to the patient’s ability to understand.

  • Use proper patient positioning tools, devices, equipment adjustment, and ergonomically correct scanning techniques to ensure patient comfort and safety, and musculoskeletal injury to the sonographer.

  • Review examination images, synthesize examination results, and prepare the preliminary findings.

  • Refer specific diagnostic, treatment or prognosis questions to the appropriate physicians or healthcare professionals.

  • Acquire additional ultrasound imaging to facilitate optimum diagnostic results for the interpreting physician, as needed.

  • Other duties as assigned.

 
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, required.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography, preferred. 

  • 2+ years’ experience in sonography.

  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer in Abdomen and OB/GYN (Or eligible for OB/GYN Certification (or obtained within 12 months of hire)).

  • State sonographer licensure, OBMI, required for Oregon.

  • Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.

  • Able to maintain patient privacy and confidentiality.

  • Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, AthenaOne, and other relevant software applications.

  • Excel in a fast-paced work environment, thriving under pressure and time constraints.

  • Vaccinated against COVID-19, Hepatitis B., MMR, PPD, Varicella (Chickenpox), and TD/TDAP.

  • Current BLS for Healthcare Providers certification from a recognized and reputable organization (e.g., American Heart Association, Red Cross) or the ability to obtain one within 1 month of hire.

  • Pay Rate: $47.00 - $63.00 per hour

  • Other Compensation: May be eligible for other compensation such as bonuses

 
WORKING CONDITIONS 
  • Frequent walking, sitting, standing, and reaching overhead.

  • Occasional crouching, kneeling, and bending.

  • Prolonged periods of standing/sitting and working at a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at time.

  • Ability to move to a different clinic location based on business needs. 

  • Patient volume may often require more than your scheduled hours per week or work outside of regular business hours to complete essential duties of this job.

  • Occasional reaching and lifting of small objects and operating office equipment.

  • Ability to adjust focus between close and distance vision.

  • Exposure to sensitive and confidential information.

  • Ability to be fit tested and wear a respirator, when required.
