Position Overview:
We are seeking a Network Operations Engineer to develop and maintain functional and secure networks. You may mentor a team of engineers, troubleshoot issues, and optimize network performance. This role requires strong problem-solving skills and thorough knowledge of network administration and architecture. A strong interest in security and data protection is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- 24x7 service operations in rotational shifts.
- Monitoring IT infrastructure: servers, storage, backup, network (switches, routers, firewalls), and security devices (IPS, IDS).
- Categorizing and qualifying alerts from monitoring platforms and engaging respective teams.
- Proficient in monitoring tools (preferably ScienceLogic, Zabbix, ManageEngine).
- Proficient in ticketing tools (preferably ServiceNow, ManageEngine, Ivanti).
- Perform initial troubleshooting to quickly resolve simple issues.
- Handling major incident management and participating in bridge calls.
- Working knowledge of Layer 1, 2, and 3 technologies (VLAN, STP, OSPF, BGP, IP/MPLS, L3VPN, Carrier Ethernet, Transport Networks like Ciena, SDH/Native Packet Transport).
- Eagerness to learn emerging technologies (Routing & Switching, BGP, MPLS, OSPF, VLAN, SD-WAN, Cloud Connectivity, Security).
- Coordinating with Duty Manager for ticket queue management and bulk ticket handling.
- Routing incidents/service requests/changes to appropriate stakeholders within SLA.
- Fault handling and escalation, including liaising with third-party suppliers.
- Maintaining vigilance for major incidents or widespread service-impacting events.

- Ability to quickly learn and manage a wide range of technical issues.
