Position Overview:
The ITAD Technician is responsible for the secure processing, testing, refurbishment, data sanitization, inventory management, and disposition of retired technology assets received from customers. This role plays a critical part in delivering industry-leading IT Asset Disposition (ITAD) services while ensuring compliance with data security, environmental, quality, and customer requirements.
The ITAD Technician performs hands-on evaluation and processing of desktops, laptops, servers, networking equipment, mobile devices, and related technology assets. Responsibilities include asset tracking, diagnostics, data destruction, grading, refurbishment, inventory control, and preparation of equipment for resale, redeployment, recycling, or disposal. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and committed to maintaining high standards of accuracy, security, and customer satisfaction
What you’ll do as the ITAD Technician:

- Capture and maintain accurate asset information, including serial numbers, asset tags, device specifications, and condition details within company systems.
- Perform diagnostics and functional testing on a variety of technology assets.
- Execute certified data sanitization and secure destruction processes in accordance with company policies, customer requirements, and industry standards.
- Evaluate equipment condition and assign appropriate grading classifications.
- Refurbish and prepare equipment for redeployment, resale, inventory storage, or recycling.
- Maintain inventory accuracy and proper chain-of-custody documentation throughout the asset lifecycle.
- Package, palletize, transport, and stage equipment while adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Identify and escalate discrepancies, damaged assets, or process issues to management.
- Support quality audits, environmental compliance initiatives, and continuous improvement efforts.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
- Meet established productivity, quality, security, and customer service objectives.
- Able to lift up to 50lbs.
What you will bring to the team:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware and technology devices.
- Experience working with desktops, laptops, servers, networking devices, or related IT equipment preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy.
- Ability to follow documented procedures and maintain compliance requirements.
- Experience with inventory, warehouse, logistics, or asset management processes preferred.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout a warehouse or production environment for extended periods.
- Ability to safely lift and move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
- Comfortable working in warehouse, shipping, receiving, and refurbishment environments.
- Ability to operate material handling equipment after appropriate training and certification.
Qualified candidates can expect a salary range of $18.00-19.00
