Term:  6 month contract-to-hire opportunity
Location: onsite in Pueblo, CO
  
Hours: Day shift - Mon-Friday 8-5pm -  Light on call rotation  
Hourly pay: up to $35/hr  
Must have valid driver’s license:  Light travel associated with the role - use of personal vehicle with mileage reimbursement.

Position Overview
The Business Systems Analyst is a multifaceted position. The individual selected will work onsite at our client location in the Palliative care space.  The role involves defining requirements, specifications and implementing computer system solutions.  Duties also include supporting various operational applications, participating in process improvement projects, providing ad hoc technical support to end users, troubleshooting production issues, performing root cause analysis, documenting resolution using our existing ticketing system, and ensuring that the various applications meet performance and reliability standards. 
 
Other duties involve executing detailed tactical day-to-day data analytical tasks.  Detailed data analytical tasks include but are not limited to collecting, processing, and analyzing data to provide insights for decision-making.  Collaborate with others to analyze various datasets and create reports and visualizations.  This position works closely with leadership to ensure the data analytics needs within the organization run effectively and smoothly. 
 
This position is key in contributing to and executing the overall vision of the organization.  In collaborating with the IT team and other departments the Junior Business Systems Analyst helps ensure that technology projects and process improvement initiatives align with the organization’s goals.

    • Analyze internal users’ needs and other data
    • Develop functional requirements
    • Design solutions and write up technical requirements
    • Test and implement technology solutions
    • Conduct research
    • Gather requirements from stakeholders
    • Analyze current business processes and systems
    • Identify areas for improvement
    • Document procedures to improve existing systems and/or workflows
    • Assess hardware and software needs and provide recommendations for improvements
    • Provide training and support end users
    • Conduct data analysis, clean and preprocess data, create reports and dashboards, collaborate with other teams, and present findings to stakeholders
    • Collaborate with all levels of users in the organization
    • Create reports and/or visualizations
    • Maintain and update the organization’s Data Roadmap which includes a Report Library, Data Dictionary and Data/Report protocols
      • Report Library:  KPI’s, Quality/QAPI, Operations, and Survey reports
      • Data Dictionary:  List of primary data field names, source of specific data field, definition for each data field, and formulas
      • Data/Report Protocol:  Completed for each report and includes Data/Report title, purpose, data source(s), report/table name(s), report generation, report parameters, steps to generate report, formulas/calculations, identify who is responsible to generate data/report and any exceptions.   
    • Maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources.  Collaborate with others to build scripts to make the data handling process more flexible, efficient, and consistent across datasets.
    • Conduct ad hoc data mining/extraction from databases and tables  
    • Implement and maintain data quality standards to ensure the accuracy and reliability of data. 
    • Monitor and troubleshoot data and business system issues
    • Provide Tier 2 technical support to internal end-users, addressing data and/or application-related issues and incidents.  Collaborate with internal or external development teams to resolve technical problems in a timely manner
    • Communicate effectively with end-users, keeping them informed about the status of reported issues and resolutions
    • Over time become a subject matter expert on the primary applications and systems our end-users utilize on a frequent basis
    • Assist end-users in understanding application functionalities and features.  This may include attending vendor hosted new release webinars and then creating and updating user documentation, FAQs, and knowledge base articles to facilitate self-help. 
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks including updates and configuration changes. 
    • Ensure data and application security by adhering to security protocols and access controls. 
    • Complies with all HIPAA regulations and maintains patient confidentiality.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    • May be required to perform on-call duties based on a predetermined schedule.
    What you'll bring to the table: 
    • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, mathematics, or statistics or 5+ years of experience in a Business Systems, Data and/or Application Support Analyst position
    • Experience in reporting, business systems, application support, and healthcare experience strongly preferred.
    • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally to include but not limited to summarizing data, presenting insights and facilitate results-oriented discussions with a wide range of audiences. 
    • Ability to convey complex problems and findings to non-technical users
    • Proficient in Office 365 suite and SharePoint management
    • Proficient in data analysis tools (Access, SQL server management studio, Python) and data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, Tableau)
    • Initiative to work independently (self-direction)
    • Actively participate in project and/or process improvement initiatives.  May be asked to lead small to medium size projects
    • Understand the hospice, home health and palliative care philosophy.
    • Able to work in conditions consisting of long periods of standing, bending, and moving about the facility.
    • Must Show Proof of a Tuberculin Skin Test (PPD), TB blood test, and/or CXR, or get one upon employment (An annual assessment for symptoms must be completed thereafter)
      • Proof of immunizations for MMR (X 2 if born after 1957), D/T and Varicella is recommended, but not required.
    • Must possess a valid driver’s license issued by the state of Colorado.  
      • Maintain insurance in accordance with state and/or organization requirements and maintain automobile in good working order. 
      • Must meet minimum driver standards; driver’s license must have no physical restrictions other than corrective lenses; no more than two moving violations in the last 36 months and no major charges, such as reckless driving, driving while intoxicated/driving under the influence of drugs, in the last 5 years. 
     Physical Requirements:
    • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands and fingers, handle and/or feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
    • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision and ability to adjust focus.
