Position Overview:
 
Term: 6+ Months 
Location: Bowling Green, KY 
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00; commensurate with experience 
Hours: 8:00 am - 5:00 pm  
Tuberculosis Test Required
 
The Technical Support Specialist is responsible for assisting in the design, delivery, and improvement of in-house software applications as assigned, training end users on the use of specialized hardware and related software. Provides support for multiple systems and/or medical devices. This position also includes troubleshooting network equipment, various computing hardware, interfaces, and software applications with staff such as Applications Analysts, Programmers, Network Staff, System Administrators, and other business units.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating Systems (such as XP, 7, 8, 10).
  • Ability to analyze and understand moderate to complex business processes and software applications. 
  • Ability to work with moderate supervision
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve PC issues through to resolution (working with processors, random access memory, power supplies, video adapter cards, network interface cards, expansion cards, external media drives, backups, disk imaging, encryption software, virus protection software, boot processes, etc.).
  • Knowledge of communications processes.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products.
  • Knowledge of CompuTrace software.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and memos.  Ability to present information in one-on-one situations to users, vendors, management, etc.
  • Ability to install new software, RAM, hard drives, sound cards, CPU's, expansion cards, etc.
  • Knowledge of campus communications hubs.
  • Ability to organize work priorities and meet specific objectives under time constraints.
  • Ability to learn quickly and follow instructions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
What you will bring to the team: 
  • BS Degree in an Information Technology related field (OR) Two-year Technical degree or equivalent with two years applicable work experience (OR) Five years applicable work experience.
  • Five years of information technology support experience plus 1 year Med Center Health experience required.
  • CompTIA A+ certification or Network+ certification required.
  • Dell Warranty Parts Direct Certification required.
  • Completion of at least two certifications, which include: MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solution Associate), MCITP, MCDST, MCSA (Microsoft Certified System Administrator), MTA, CCENT, Security +, Network + or other valid IT related certifications approved by IT Management.
