Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled SharePoint Designer to join our team in enhancing and maintaining our corporate intranet. As a SharePoint Designer specializing in intranet development, you will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining solutions within SharePoint Online to support our organization's internal communication and collaboration needs.  Additionally, this role will assist with learning content creation and content cataloguing as needed.

What you’ll do as the SharePoint and Content Designer:

• Design, develop, and customize intranet portals and sites using SharePoint Online, focusing on user interface design, site navigation, and content structure.
• Implement and configure SharePoint features such as lists, libraries, web parts, workflows, and forms to automate business processes and enhance usability.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, understand business needs, and translate them into technical solutions within SharePoint.
• Customize and brand SharePoint sites using out-of-the-box capabilities, design applications, and other web technologies (HTML/CSS/JavaScript).
• Manage permissions and security settings within SharePoint to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
• Provide ongoing support, troubleshooting, and maintenance of SharePoint sites and solutions, including monitoring site performance and user feedback.
• Train end users on SharePoint functionality and best practices for optimal learner experience.
• Assist with building and management of the learning content housed both in SharePoint and in the learning management system (LMS).
• Maintain solutions-oriented perspective

This role is responsible for:

• Intranet Redesign
  • Rescoping intranet.
  • Implementing SharePoint design that enables a streamlined user experience.
  • Design SharePoint structure that allows for routine governance and analytics.
• Content
  • The retention of content.
  • Proper posting of new content on intranet and within LMS.
  • Establishing a routine review cycle for content.
  • Working with SMEs to collaborate on updates and enhancements to content.

What you will bring to the team:

The following are the experience and key skills required for the position:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
• Proven experience as a SharePoint Designer or Developer, with a focus on intranet solutions using SharePoint Online (Office 365).
• Strong understanding of SharePoint Online architecture, features, and capabilities.
• Proficiency in designing and implementing SharePoint sites, lists, libraries, and workflows.
• Experience with SharePoint branding and customization using SharePoint Designer, HTML/CSS, and JavaScript.
• Ability to gather and analyze requirements from stakeholders and translate them into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• SharePoint certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: SharePoint Associate) are a plus.
• Ability to collaborate successfully with different levels of the organization.
• Ability to organize and manage multiple projects, activities, and work independently with minimal supervision
• Strong desire to learn and excel
