Position Overview

The Engineering Manager is a key member of the digital transformation executive team at Zones. We are looking for individuals who want to build and grow technical teams and make an impact on the business transformation of a $2 billion USD company.

What you will do as an Engineering Manager

You are a hands-on technical leader that thrives in a fast-paced dynamic environment adept at hiring and leading a core team of engineers to deliver complex solutions on tight timelines. You’re an entrepreneurial thinker with a deep understanding of how to deliver cutting-edge technology solutions within a large enterprise. You know how to work closely with software architects, product managers, Zones executives, and customers to prioritize and deliver requirements.

  • Hire and lead engineering teams responsible for building the Zones Digital Platform.
  • Work with product management to understand and prioritize technical requirements.
  • Propose and validate software architecture designs, implementation methodologies, and engineering roadmaps.
  • Directly manage and mentor a team of engineering leaders and architects to broaden their skills, increase their day-to-day effectiveness, and ultimately grow their careers.
  • Help Zones foster and grow a culture of innovation.

What You will bring to the team

  • 10+ years of progressive engineering experience.
  • 10+ years of experience developing and managing complex enterprise software.
  • 5+ years of experience building and leading large geo-distributed teams.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development building large scale B2B and B2C products
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or related field, and or relevant experience
  • Hands-on technical experience with any of the following: C/C++, PHP, Python, Rust, Go React, Angular, JavaScript, AWS, Azure, RESTful API, GraphQL, etc.
  • Ability to review and critique engineering design and architectural decisions
  • Strong ability to hire top talent, inspire, lead, and develop leaders
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale cross-functional initiatives
  • Deep understanding and commitment to software engineering best practices and principles
  • Strong executive presence and experience working across organizational boundaries
  • Ability to form alliances with other leaders and executives, and build bridges that support company goals
  • Outstanding and compelling written and verbal communication skills
