Contract Trade Compliance Specialist

Fluidra is looking for a Contract Trade Compliance Specialist to join our team in Carlsbad, CA.
WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
The Trade Compliance Specialist main responsibilities involve creating and implementing internal policies to ensure a company-wide compliance with domestic and international shipping requirements, custom regulations, and trade laws for products imported or exported.
The Trade Compliance Specialist leads, manages, and provides expertise with export and import activities in reaching Fluidra business objectives. Ensures that global transactions are undertaken in compliance with import/export laws, regulations and controls administered by the government agency as appropriate to the business location. Additionally, you will:
- Provides expertise and training regarding trade compliance for export and import activities.
- Manages and performs classification of products for export in accordance with applicable regulations.
- Ensures that procedures related to trade regulations and reporting requirements are in place for all appropriate areas of responsibility and personnel at manufacturing or Distribution Center sites.
- Investigates and gathers information to create reports for potential or verified matters of non-compliance.
- Manages and conducts regular monthly audits on import and export to ensure compliance.
- Maintains Trade Compliance record keeping processes.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance
- Other responsibilities as assigned.
WHAT WE SEEK
- 3+ years of relevant experience in customs compliance and international trade
- Excellent understanding of trade compliance, such as the Denied Party List, Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and others
- Strong attention to detail, good organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize with changing situations.
- Ability to solve problems that are more complex by analyzing possible solutions using technical expertise, judgment, and precedents.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to drive tasks to completion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and database management tools
EDUCATION
- Bachelors degree in Supply Chain or other relevant field
- Certifications preferred: International Trade Compliance (HS Classification, Incoterms, Customs procedures, Free Trade Agreements and Countries of Origin, Customs valuation, Transfer pricing, Export controls, Transport vendor management)

Expected hourly rate range is $31.25 – $33.65 per hour.
