Fluidra is looking for an HSE Specialist to join our team! This role will be responsible for HSE in two facilities; Built Right in Punta Gorda, FL and Fluidra USA in Jacksonville, FL with the home base in Punta, Gorda, FL.

 

WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE 

The HSE Specialist will facilitate a safe working environment for employees and their activities to manage resources, services, and processes to meet the needs of the facility. The HSE Specialist will be responsible for implementing the company’s environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with corporate policy and applicable local and federal laws. Additionally, you will: 

  • File regulatory reports with local, state, and federal agencies as well as with corporate USA and Spain
  • Collaboratively partner with HR in the handling of safety incidents and workers compensation claims as needed.
  • Ensure all incidents and injuries are thoroughly investigated and ensure preparation of required material and evidence for any further corrective/preventative actions that may be required
  • Assist in the implementation and execution of CI strategy using Lean (5S) and Six Sigma methods to deliver bottom line, quantified results
  • Assure security of the facility and maintain access systems
  • Ability to travel 50% to start, will drop to 25% over time.

 

WHAT WE SEEK

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience implementing and managing proactive Health, Safety, and Environmental programs in a manufacturing environment with emphasis on

-            confined space entry and working at height

-            respiratory protection

-            air permit compliance and tracking

-            hazardous and solid waste management

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, maintaining awareness of deadlines
  • Ability to recognize potential hazards and risks and collaborate across functions to eliminate or minimize the hazards
  • Ability to identify processes that need improvement and make recommendations
  • Ability to turn goals into actionable results with a proven record of accomplishments
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Experience implementing and maintaining 5S, training, and development programs
  • Lean Manufacturing Certification preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of Industrial Engineering tools (Time Studies, Workflow Analysis, Pareto Charts, etc.) preferred
  • Solid administrative and organizational skills, with expertise in Microsoft Office and incident management software tools
  • Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred

 

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s Degree in Sciences or Engineering or equivalent experience.

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to read and write, sit, walk within the facility to access file cabinets, documents, stand, talk and hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 10 pounds. They also occasionally move objects weighing up to 20 lbs., and sometimes, but rarely, up to 50 lbs.  Must be comfortable working on a ladder up to 20 feet.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
