Fluidra’s looking for a Quality Technician to join our team in Tucson, AZ.   

    

WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE    

The Quality Technician position at FLUIDRA will be responsible (under limited supervision) for maintaining quality standards by reviewing, analyzing and disposition of incoming and in-process materials resulting from customer returned products (RMA Analysis) and/or internally rejected materials (MRB) from any area within the Supply Chain process (Receiving, manufacturing, warehouse / handling and inspection areas), recording any quality results and maintaining quality records per company policy. The QC Inspector shall be experienced in writing NCMR’s (non-conforming material reports through Oracle preferably) and documenting Corrective Actions Reports for Quality Engineers as well as utilizing emails to communicate these rejections/CARs to buyers and Supplier’s when needed.   

This person will interact with material handlers on a day-to-day basis as well as with Receiving, Production Planning/Scheduling and Inventory Control teams to assure accurate and efficient processing/movement of non-conforming materials both physically and in the ERP system which will include acceptance and disposition into the appropriate sub-inventory location of products mainly via the FLUIDRA MRB Meetings. At the same time, this person will ensure both the RMA and MRB areas are appropriately organized and cleaned including accuracy of product as per Oracle inventory requirements.   

    

This person will also support the Receiving Inspection area/process with material handling support to QC Inspectors when needed as well as visual inspections when materials require either sample or 100% inspections. Other duties or changes may apply depending on company/business needs. Additionally, you will:    

  • Responsible for routinely conducting departmental Quality and/or Safety Audits
  • Perform inspections for compliance with specifications using blueprints, drawings, inspection procedures, and prior knowledge of fabrication methods to evaluate if deficiencies are present in systems, structures, assemblies, or parts.
  • Conduct in-process and final inspections at various checkpoints during maintenance activities. This includes installations or repairs of removed, disassembled, repaired, and assembled equipment; installation of structures, systems, and associated components; equipment to eliminate work hold-ups and rework; and to ensure conformance to specified requirements.
  • Interpret inspection acceptance/rejection criteria to identify discrepancies and non-conformances. Assemble pertinent information and materials necessary to effectively accomplish planning, scheduling, inspections, and reporting of inspection results. Interpretation and judgment of the acceptance/rejection of an item is based on a review of the work against the written requirements. Judgment and interpretation is based on training and experience.
  • Conduct training of lower level and same level inspection personnel by demonstrating the proper techniques for performing Quality Control inspection, interpreting inspection results, documenting inspection results, documenting non-conformances, and reviewing and closing out of completed work order tasks and associated inspection documentation.
  • Evaluate the adequacy of specific programs used to train and test inspection, examination, and testing personnel.
  • Develop, write, review, and approve inspection, examination, and testing procedures and evaluate the adequacy of such procedures to accomplish the inspection, examination, and test objectives.
  • Conduct surveillances, observations and submit reports and recommendations. Analyze data from surveillances and observations of work activities and documentation to identify problems. Summarize data and major points and submit reports to management for review and action. Maintain files, charts, and status reports on progress of inspections and documentation.
  • Assist in developing new procedural controls to address the quality control aspects of the Quality Management System (QMS)
  • Perform independent oversight of S.R. Smith programs and processes through use of performance-based techniques. Responsible for written and verbal reporting of the conclusions of the assessments under the cognizance of a lead auditor.
  • Routinely monitor plant and industry information to remain cognizant of assigned technical areas, and interface with line personnel, industry contacts, and regulatory agencies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

    

WHAT WE SEEK   

  • 5+ years of quality control inspection experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required to perform at this level.
  • Must have experience both in MRB and RMA’s areas including analysis and disposition of product as well as accurate segregation to prevent unintended use.
  • The ability to interpret engineering specifications/drawings for disposition of products.
  • Interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills sufficient to organize, maintain and collaborate with other departments to accurately complete paperwork, understands documentation and effectively communicates with fellow employees for disposition of products.
  • Extreme attention-to-detail, especially in the documentation of Non-Conforming product, Corrective Actions and disposition of materials.
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word as well as email’s.
  • Basic knowledge of measurement instruments (e.g., microscope, optical comparator, caliper, micrometer, pins gauge and gauge blocks).
  • Good arithmetic skills are required.
  • Must have good English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Forklift driver certified a plus.
