Description

Fluidra is seeking a QA/QC Technician to join the team at our Taylor Water Technologies location in Sparks, MD. The position has the potential to evolve into QA/QC Chemist position after successful completion of introductory period.

WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE 
  • Assist the Quality Manager in developing and implementing the Quality Assurance / Control Plan primarily in the Procurement, Production and Laboratory work centers.
  • Assist with internal quality system audits/assessments and inventory control audits.
  • Inspect, document and process damaged inbound shipments.
  • Follow standardized procedures, key process indicators and metrics to effectively measure the quality assurance of raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished products.
  • Conduct sample inspections of products during the production process.
  • Investigate quality problems and nonconforming products reported by Production personnel or customers.
  • Ensure the serviceability and accuracy of analytical instruments and calibrated equipment throughout the company.
  • Perform additional duties as required and work extended hours when necessary.
  • Perform monthly inspections throughout the plant to ensure the finished product is compliant with internal shelf-life standards
  • Maintain schedule for and perform random sampling inspections across all Production departments.
  • Enter and review data in our ERP system to ensure inventory and manufacturing data accuracy.
 
WHAT WE SEEK
Experience
  • Associate in quality or related field highly preferred. Bachelor of Science in Chemistry a plus.
  • ASQ Certification: Certified Quality Inspector certification must be completed within 12 months of hire date
  • 1 year experience in Quality Assurance / Control position or equivalent education
  • Working experience with ISO-9001 or similar system highly preferred.
  • Working experience with Epicor or a similar ERP system highly preferred
  • Mathematical reasoning: Application knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, and statistics.
  • Comprehension of production and processing techniques. 
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing techniques to optimize the efficiency and effectiveness of manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of chemistry composition, structure, and properties of substances and the processes and transformations that they undergo. Additionally, experience with the safe handling, storing, mixing and disposal of chemicals is highly preferred.
Skills
  • Operation and maintenance of analytical tools and equipment
  • Proficient computer skills to navigate windows-based systems.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Able to conduct inspections and tests of products, services, and processes to evaluate their performance to a given standard.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and emotional control to foster good relationships and teamwork.
  • Possess strong face-to-face and telephone communication skills.
  • Possess sharp analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent personal time management to be able to complete assigned work within a reasonable amount of time and with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Able to work well autonomously and in team environments.
  • Possess visual clarity within 10 feet of the observer and pass the Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Test.
