Fluidra is looking for a Director of Operations to join our team at our S.R. Smith facility in Portland, TN.
WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
As the Director of Operations – Distribution Center Replenishment, this individual will manage and direct the operational performance, with full P&L accountability for our four diverse distribution center replenishment manufacturing facilities across North America (Punta Gorda, Orlinda, Tucson, and Canby). In addition, the Director of Operations will be responsible for developing and establishing regional operating plans, goals and objectives that will ensure operating results are consistent with the company’s strategic plan and business forecast. Additionally, you will:
- Direct all operations support functions of the DCR facilities, including manufacturing, production planning, assembly operations, purchasing, shipping, and receiving to ensure that established operational and financial objectives are met.
- Lead optimum day-to-day operations to exceed our customers’ expectations
- Champion an environment of continuous improvement through increased production, asset management and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining high quality standards.
- Recommend and implement operations strategies in alignment with the company’s strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Guide site leaders in the development of annual plans and continuous improvement programs to reduce manufacturing cost, increase productivity, and ensure chosen levels of quality.
- Responsible for key operational metrics such as cost, inventory levels, fulfillment, productivity, quality performance and warranty costs. Direct regular reviews of operational performance and provide appropriate feedback to site leaders on results. Ensure corrective action is taken to restore the integrity of the operating plan.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment through the development of safety practices and training for all employees. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and maintenance of safety and training records.
- Develop annual budget partnering with Finance for Operations activities.
- Collaboration with other manufacturing companies and functions of the Fluidra group to update procedures, learn and import technologies, take advantage of existing knowledge, etc.
WHAT WE SEEK
- 10+ years’ experience working in plant operations required
- Adequate knowledge of business and management principles (budgeting, strategic planning, resource allocation and human resources)
- Be knowledgeable of safety, quality, productivity, planning and forecasting, production scheduling, and inventory processes
- Ability to create accountability and to lead by example
- Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills
- Proficiency with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
- Experience using ERP systems for planning, purchasing and production posting (Epicor experience a plus)
EDUCATION
Bachelor’s degree in Operations, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical/ Chemical Engineering, or related field.
