This role will primarily focus on supporting Emma’s Diary which provide guidance, reassurance, information and advice throughout the parenthood journey.

The Role

We’re looking for a Head of Social Media to work with our editorial team to implement and lead the social media strategy as well as oversee our micro influencer community “the Parent Squad”. You will lead and manage the Emma’s Diary Social Media offering, whilst supporting and providing guidance to the current team. You’ll do this whilst working closely with the content team to deliver quality campaigns and content across all owned and paid channels.

This role is perfect for a data-led, social media expert who’s got a sharp eye for detail and a genuine desire in finding new ways to use social channels to deliver traffic, engagement and commerce revenue. You’ll be responsible for driving excitement and engagement for content campaigns, client promotion and ecommerce events across all social channels both organic and paid. To thrive in this role you'll need to be comfortable working towards targets that include traditional metrics such as community growth, engagement, reach but also performance metrics such as traffic and conversions.

You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day running of the social remit; overseeing all organic and paid activity is running as planned.

This role collaborates with a number of teams including Editorial, Design, E-commerce and account management. You will be confident in delivering updates to the senior leadership team and wider business, acting as the key point-person for the social media team.



  • Manage social output across multiple channels (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest) across both organic and paid,
  • Use social listening and analytics tools to measure impact and effectiveness of campaigns and inform future planning,
  • Work closely with the content team to align on key campaigns for the year
  • Monitor and develop reports regarding specific platform and channel analytics, and use these reports to create KPIs for social growth
  • Lead the process for reporting back to the business on key successes and learnings, constantly developing strategies and plans to always improve performance
  • Test and optimise creative, messaging, target audiences and placements to determine best practice and share with the wider business,
  • Keep the business informed of new channels and way in which to test relevancy and performance,

Content/Community Management

  • Co create the central social and content calendar to shape key tent poles throughout the year
  • Ensure all content across all platforms reflects the brand TOV,
  • Work in collaboration with our Designer to produce bespoke content and campaigns for social
  • Over-see the running of the Parent Squad micro influencer community

Social Paid Management

  • Lead the paid campaigns from creative development, targeting, execution and reporting to drive traffic and commerce goals


  • Extensive experience and knowledge of social media platforms:
    • Facebook,
    • Instagram,
    • TikTok,
    • YouTube,
    • Pinterest,
    • LinkedIn
  • A complete understanding of social media, new trends and how they can be used to drive impact, loyalty and engagement
  • A proven track record of executing social media strategies for a B2C brand
  • Strong eye for detail and an ability to identifying visual content that drives results
  • You have a working knowledge of and experience with various social media marketing technologies, such as social monitoring and publishing/CMS platforms
  • You’re a team player who takes initiative and can handle a fast-paced environment


  • Minimum 6 years in industry with 2 at management level
  • You are a data-led, social media strategy expert with a proven record you’re able to show and talk through in-depth
  • Confident with Canva
  • Excellent copywriting, proofreading and editing skills
  • Creative, independent thinker with a keen eye for detail.
  • Keen interest in and thorough understanding of all aspects of social media, both organic and paid
