Position at Ookla

We’re Ookla, the company behind Speedtest, Downdetector, Ekahau, RootMetrics, and an ever-expanding suite of connectivity solutions. Our team is a group of people brought together through passion and inspired by possibility.
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to participate in our Ekahua's product development. Your responsibilities will mainly be designing, performing, and reporting Ekahau product feature tests, followed by test automation development using relevant automation tools. Ekahau enables IT professionals to take control of their Wi-Fi, making it easier than ever before to proactively monitor, maintain, and optimize their networks. Organizations of every size—including the world’s biggest brands and events—use our software and hardware products for full Wi-Fi lifecycle management and the highest levels of performance and connectivity. Our award-winning design, site survey, and troubleshooting solutions create fast, reliable networks that businesses can trust for their mission-critical Wi-Fi needs.
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with backend development focus to become a part of our skilled and motivated Cloud team. This role offers a diverse range of opportunities and responsibilities, each contributing to the development, efficiency, and security of our products.

You’ll make sure systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats and vulnerabilities are being addressed in a timely manner. In addition to this, you’ll be working on devops pipelines to help our development teams to succeed. Of course, you will not be working alone to do all this, instead you’ll work together with the team.

  • Mid to senior level experience in software development or devops engineering
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
  • Proficiency in backend development using Java technology stacks and databases
  • Experience in infrastructure development using AWS and Docker containers

  • Knowledge of cloud monitoring tools such as Grafana and Prometheus
  • Background check required
  • We hope that you reside somewhere around the Helsinki Metropolitan Area.
