We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer with deep expertise in manual testing of web applications and APIs. In this role, you will focus on developing and executing detailed manual test cases to ensure comprehensive coverage of all functionalities and edge cases within our web platforms and API services. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with automation engineers to help design and build out our automated testing coverage. Your role will be pivotal in identifying critical areas for automation, working hand-in-hand with the automation team to implement and refine automated tests that complement our manual testing efforts. This combined approach will ensure our applications are robust, reliable, and meet the highest standards of quality before release.

 

 

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute detailed manual test cases to ensure thorough coverage of all mobile, web, and API functionalities, identifying edge cases and potential issues.
  • Collaborate with automation engineers to identify key areas for automation, providing insights from manual testing to guide the development of automated test scripts.
  • Work closely with the automation team to help design, build, and expand automated testing coverage, ensuring that automated tests complement and enhance manual testing efforts.
  • Review and analyze test results from both manual and automated tests, ensuring that identified issues are thoroughly documented and tracked through resolution.
  • Participate in test planning and strategy development, contributing your expertise in manual testing to ensure that all potential user scenarios and edge cases are considered.
  • Mentor and guide junior QA engineers, sharing best practices in manual testing and helping them collaborate effectively with automation engineers.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and project managers, to ensure testing is integrated seamlessly into the development lifecycle.
  • Continuously improve manual testing processes, seeking opportunities to enhance efficiency and effectiveness while maintaining high standards of quality.

Experience We Want to See

  • Extensive experience in manual testing of web, mobile applications, and APIs, with a proven track record of identifying edge cases and ensuring comprehensive test coverage across platforms.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working closely with automation engineers to develop and enhance automated testing coverage that complements manual testing efforts on both web and mobile platforms.
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools, with the ability to understand, review, and provide input on automated test cases for both web and mobile applications, ensuring they effectively supplement manual testing.
  • Deep understanding of test planning and strategy development, particularly in balancing manual and automated testing across web, mobile, and API environments to achieve thorough and efficient quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in identifying areas for automation, using insights gained from manual testing on web and mobile applications to guide the development of automated test cases targeting critical functionalities.
  • Experience in using test management tools (e.g., Jira, QMetry) to document, track, and analyze manual and automated test cases and results, ensuring issues are effectively communicated and resolved.
  • Solid understanding of API and mobile application testing, including manual testing of API endpoints and mobile functionalities, validating responses, performance, and ensuring data integrity.
  • Experience mentoring junior QA engineers, particularly in manual testing techniques for web, mobile, and API testing, and fostering collaboration between manual and automation testing teams.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, with the ability to collaborate with automation engineers in integrating automated tests for web and mobile applications into the CI/CD process.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to critically analyze both manual and automated test results across web, mobile, and API platforms to identify root causes of issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams and clear documentation of testing processes and results for web and mobile projects.
